‘Not over’? Feds coy over next move in Nevada rancher standoff

Tensions simmered Tuesday in the standoff between federal land managers and a Nevada rancher — but the feds are being coy about how far they’ll go to pursue Cliven Bundy as both sides regroup for their next move.

Federal land managers backed down in a weekend standoff with Bundy after hundreds of states’ rights protesters, including armed militia members, showed up to protest federal officials seizing his cattle. Some protesters had their guns drawn and pointed toward law enforcement, some of whom were also armed, on the scene — ultimately, no shots were fired and the Bureau of Land Management reported that officials left over safety concerns.

Nevada Sen. Harry Reid said afterward that the dispute is “not over.” But whether the feds will keep plugging away with a court challenge or go further is unclear.

One question is whether there will be any repercussions for armed protesters.

Asked repeatedly by FoxNews.com whether the standoff might lead to a criminal investigation into possible threats against federal officers, administration officials would not say.

A Justice Department spokesman said they had no comment on the matter.

Asked whether BLM planned to ask for such an investigation, a BLM spokesman said “the gather is over” and referred to prior statements put out over the weekend.

The “gather” refers to the round-up of 900 cattle, hundreds of which belonged to Bundy, on federally owned land in Nevada. Bundy has been at odds for years with the feds, who say he owes more than $1.1 million in unpaid grazing fees. BLM long ago revoked Bundy’s grazing rights on that land after citing concern for a federally protected tortoise. Bundy, though, claimed ancestral rights to the land his family settled in the 19th century and has refused to pay the fees or remove his animals.

The case drew intense media attention as federal and law enforcement officials openly clashed last week with Bundy and his family, at times using Tasers. The standoff came to a head on Saturday, when hundreds of Bundy supporters streamed in. Top lawmakers, even those critical of the federal government’s actions, voiced concern that the dispute could get out of hand.

Sen. Dean Heller, R-Nev., urged protesters to let BLM officials gather their equipment and leave the area. “The dispute is over, the BLM is leaving, but emotions and tensions are still near the boiling point, and we desperately need a peaceful conclusion to this conflict,” Heller said at the time. He also asked protesters to return home.

So are the feds willing to forgive and forget?

Already, Bundy supporters are citing the resolution to the weekend’s dispute as an important moment. Arizona state Rep. David Livingston, speaking with Reuters, called it a “major tipping point” for western lawmakers pushing state sovereignty issues.

But Heller’s Senate colleague, Senate Majority Leader Reid, D-Nev., told Reno-based KRNV: “It’s not over. We can’t have, in America, people that violate the law and just walk away from it. So it’s not over.”

At the least, BLM officials say they’ll continue their fight through the courts.

“After 20 years and multiple court orders to remove the trespass cattle, Mr. Bundy owes the American taxpayers in excess of $1 million. The BLM will continue to work to resolve the matter administratively and judicially,” a statement from the bureau said.

After the agency released Bundy’s cattle and left the scene, nerves were still raw.

Bundy told Fox News that local sheriffs, wherever the BLM officials are, need to take away their guns and “disarm the federal bureaucrats.”

“They have no authority,” Bundy said Monday night.

Bundy’s daughter Bailey Logue told Fox News that the dispute is “about people standing up for what’s right.”

“It was rewarding to see our cattle free again and not being tortured and back where they are safe,” she said. Logue, too, faulted the local sheriff for not standing up to federal officials and keeping them out.

Remembering the Day the American Dream Died

386474_446492082080422_2043703476_n

November 4th 2008

The United States presidential election of 2008 was the 56th quadrennial presidential election. It was held on Tuesday, November 4, 2008. Democratic Party nominee Senator Barack Obama and running mate Senator Joe Biden defeated Republican Party nominee Senator John McCain and running mate Governor Sarah Palin.

I remember the day that a little known Senator from Illinois came on the world stage promising Hope and Change to a weary American populace. America had just endured a serious financial crisis and the housing bubble had all but wiped out  the American Dream.

The young Senator promised to Fundamentally Transform the United States of America offering hope to all those who had suffered under the so called Evils of Capitalism. Unemployment had hit an all time high and the American People were looking for answers.  Little did they know back then that this…

Fundamental Transformation of America

…would usher in Socialism and a Class Warfare Struggle that would forever Divide the American People.

Little did the American People know that Government would begin to control every aspect of our lives in these United States of America and little did they know that Our Freedoms would be gradually Swept Away.

Today we find ourselves caught between a rock and a hard place as the Takers continue to vote for those who offer Government Handouts rather than pulling themselves up and striving for that ever elusive…

American Dream

As the November Mid-Term Elections approach one can only hope that there are enough of us workers left to override those government leaches and bring about real change in the form of a Restoration of our once great former Republic.

For all of you who Voted for this

Hope and Change

all I can say to you folks is…

Here are some words of Wisdom

from our Chief Contributor AFVet

In my travels across the internet, I sense the outrage of the People that love this Country.

The outrage for the corruption that this regime has been allowed to perpetrate upon the economy, the military, the private sector businesses and the very will of the people that love this Country and are not finished in defending Her.

Congress in the past was conducive in allowing this regime to be established and some elements of it are still committed to keeping it in place.

In their arrogance and the desire to maintain control, they are missing a key concept of what this Country and Her people are all about.

We never give up

The present sitting congress has been stonewalled on everything from Fast and Furious to Benghazi, to the IRS debacle that could have allowed Obama to be re-elected through fraudulent poll statistics by restricting the influence of the conservative organizations that were on the front lines to try and stop the second term of an arrogant socialist that has no problem dismissing congress and the Constitution.

The people across the fruited plain see what the problem is but are becoming impatient as to the time table.

They are furious at the congress for allowing this abomination to go on for so long.

The 2014 election should prove to be the harbinger of where this Great Country is headed.

There is a Phoenix arising, have no doubt.

And when it does, the progressives will be advised to take notice.

How long will we allow this War on America to continue?

941468_10201407376736848_1211595244_n

The invasion of America began with the election of Woodrow Wilson and continues to this day.  Howbeit ever so subtle in the beginning we hardly noticed the enemy at our gates.  Some one hundred years after the fact we find ourselves in  amazement at the overwhelming forces that have come to bare against our Constitution and way of life. This is like awaking from a nightmare only to realize it is reality.

America is in peril today not so much because of this corrupt administration but more so because of a populace that has embraced their Marxist/Socialist ideology.  A populace that no longer embraces the values that made this the greatest nation the world has ever known, but rather, a populace that has sold their soul for a free ride.

America is on the Brink of Destruction

America is on the brink of destruction and it will be this generation of Americans that will determine whether America can be brought back to her former glory or be lost forever in the sea of apathy.

Now is the time for all American’s to rise up and speak with a loud voice. The November Mid-Term Elections will be upon us before we know it and there is no time to waste. This is the time to tell your family and friends to get involved. This is the time to get them informed. America hangs in the balance my friends.

What’s it gonna be America?

The time has come for the Tea Party to Rise up in America

1186179_592937717433028_157665131_n

By now I am sure that just about every American is fed up with the Key Stone Cops we elected to represent us in Washington.  Over the last ten or fifteen years we have watched our political leaders play out their greedy games and childish attacks on one another all the while ignoring the wants and needs of their constituents.  We have watched them in their march to grab as much power as they can from We the People all the while lining their pockets with the fruits of our labor.

I say Enough is Enough already because the time has come for us to put into power a 3rd Party that will insure our constitutional rights and put an end to the stalemate we have been seeing in our nations capitol.

The time has come and is long overdo for the Tea Party to pull itself up by its Grass Roots and become a real contender in our nations political arena.

What does it mean to be an American?

200-american-voices-flagHat tip to The Western Center for Journalism by Larry Craig

We have heard a lot about people entering our country for the sole purpose of having their children born here so that they become citizens of our country. And we call our citizens Americans. But what is America, and what is an American? Is it just a person born here? And is America (I know, the United States of America) just the name of a geographical territory in the Western Hemisphere.

To say simply that an American is whoever is born here or who has taken an oath of citizenship is like saying that the Bible or a contract is just ink markings on paper. It is true that a Bible is ink markings on paper, but it is not just that. And if America is just the sum total of those people we call citizens, then we have deconstructed or dumbed-down our ideals to make them irrelevant, undesirable, or even inappropriate.

If we don’t have an idea of what we are supposed to be like as a nation (if anything), then we have no way to evaluate how we are doing. You can’t fix something if you have no way of knowing if it is broken or what is broke. You can’t have a garden without knowing what the weeds are and what the plants are that you intentionally want to cultivate.

And you don’t create a new nation, like ours was created, without having a clear idea of what you want it to be. If we don’t know what we want to be as a nation, it’s like we are sitting in a rowboat without oars, going wherever the current and the waves push us. Like a ship without a rudder, it has no destination or goal. As long as it doesn’t sink, everything is alright.

Some people focus on the idea that we are a nation of immigrants, that America is not based on a particular ethnicity. When you say you have to be Japanese to be Japanese, you are not making a tautological statement. But you can be Japanese and still be an American.

We used to call it the melting pot, where all these different nationalities combine to form a new nationality, an American. But now we talk of the salad bowl, where each individual part of the mix retains its individual identity. There is no longer considered to be a distinctly American culture, certainly not one to be retained. Every culture is equally good; but if there is no actual American culture, then we become a mixture of all the other nations.

Is that so bad? If that’s so good, they could have stayed where they were, and we could have stayed the way we were. If the way we were was so bad, they wouldn’t have come here. If we become like the countries they came from, then we are not as great as we used to be.

If we don’t know why we are great or how we got that way, we will not know when we are losing that greatness, why, and how we can get it back.

Wait. Why do I keep referring to our country as great?

In this context, the most relevant fact is that no other country in the world has so many people who want to come here, and no other country in the world allows so many other people to do so. I am not talking about the millions of people who just want to leave their own countries because of war, famine, corruption, or persecution, though many of them do see America as the place to go to. But if this country changes to become like all the countries these people have come from, then we lose what was so distinct, or great, that made them want to come here in the first place.

And two of those distinctions are freedom and prosperity, and we will look shortly how we are in jeopardy of losing both.

If you are making a generic salad, you can add a lot of different ingredients to add to the flavor. But this doesn’t work for everything. If you are making a milk shake, and everybody adds any ingredient they like (maybe one person adds hot sauce and another vegetable juice), you don’t end up with a milk shake. You end up with something that no one wants to drink. Recipes exist for a reason. Only certain ingredients in certain proportions make the best tasting dishes.

When our country was founded, it was peopled from six different European nations: England, Scotland, Ireland, France, Holland, and Germany. Eventually, as people from other nations wanted to come here, immigration laws aimed to retain the existing ethnic composition of our country.

In 1965, at least partially as a result of the new civil rights laws, immigration was opened to all nations. While this may sound noble at first, it forces the question: what is an American? Is it just whoever happens to live here legally or permanently? What do we teach our children or the new immigrants about what America is?

We talk about American ideals: freedom of speech and freedom of religion. But many of these new residents don’t believe in these. And many of the old ones are starting to not believe in them either.

Freedom of speech involves the exchange of ideas, the right to disagree with each other, and the right to express that disagreement. But we now have political correctness and hate speech laws which seek to stifle all speech that disagrees with the current mantra.

Where the old command was to love your neighbor, the new rule is to not offend your neighbor. And you can never be too sure what will do it. You can otherwise ignore him, but just don’t offend him. Don’t say anything or do anything that he might not like.

Are you willing to pay the price for Freedom?

the-cost-of-freedom

I am sure we have all heard some kind of a Conspiracy Theory at one time or another.  With the advent of the Internet and Google Searches it has become much more prevalent in our times.  So, what should we make of all these so called plots against us?  You know, the average American Citizen.  I have put together a sampling of videos and written information for you to view and consider.  I don’t pretend to have the answers on these Theories,  but I have to admit,  I am looking at them a lot more seriously these days.

Let’s take a look: Secret Societies:

This speech was given just weeks before he was Assassinated in Dallas, Texas. What was he trying to say to the Press Corps that day?  Was he trying to expose the Secret Society of which he spoke?

New World order:

Imagine that? The United States becoming a State within the confines of this One World Order and Governed by the United Nations. Guess we wouldn’t need Our Constitution anymore.

FEMA CONCENTRATION CAMPS:

This topic covers a span of time going back to around 1984 through present day.  Let’s take a look at what has been uncovered since the revelation of a code named Top Secret called REX 84.  A google search of that code name can be very enlightening.

Rex 84

Rex 84, short for Readiness Exercise 1984, is a contingency plan developed by the United States federal government to suspend the United States Constitution, declare martial law, place military commanders in charge of state and local governments, and detain large numbers of American citizens who were deemed to be “national security threats”, in the event that the President declared a “State of Domestic National Emergency”. The plan stated that events that might cause such a declaration would be widespread U.S. opposition to a U.S. military invasion abroad, such as if the United States were to directly invade Central America[1][2][3][4][5][6]. To combat what the government perceived as “subversive activities”, the plan also authorized the military to direct ordered movements of civilian populations at state and regional levels.[7]

Rex 84 was written by Lieutenant Colonel Oliver North, who was both the NSC White House Aide and NSC liaison to FEMA, and John Brinkerhoff, the deputy director of “national preparedness” programs for FEMA. They patterned the plan on a 1970 report written by FEMA chief Louis Giuffrida, at the Army War College, which proposed the detention of up to 21 million “American Negroes”, if there were a black militant uprising in the United States.[1] [8] Existence of a master military contingency plan (of which REX-84 was a part), “Garden Plot” and a similar earlier exercise, “Lantern Spike” were originally revealed by journalist Ron Ridenhour, who summarized his findings in “Garden Plot and the New Action Army.”[9]

Rex 84 was publicly mentioned during the Iran-Contra Hearings in 1987.[unreliable source?][10][11]

Exercises similar to Rex 84 happen regularly.[12] For example, from 1967 to 1971 the FBI kept a list of over 100,000 persons to be rounded up as subversive, dubbed the “ADEX” list.[13]

The basic facts about Rex 84 and other contingency planning readiness exercises—and the potential threat they pose to civil liberties if fully implemented in a real operation—are taken seriously by scholars and civil libertarians.[14]

But wait, there’s more:

SOCIALISM:

I hope you found my little overview of these Conspiracy Theories somewhat enlightening.  There is so much more to discover out there concerning the deeds of powerful men/women and their plans for you and I.  Two Presidents, one a Democrat and the other a Republican have tried to warn us. Now it is up to us to be vigilant and prepared should any of these Conspiracy Theories ever become our Reality.  Remember Marshal Law could be declared at a moments notice and Our Constitutional Rights would then be suspended.

America’s Most Communist States: California and New York

374535_612496562098626_167415252_n

Hat tip to Fox News for this report

New York and California have for generations of Americans been considered destination spots to express personal freedoms — one with a city big enough for anybody with a dream to perhaps become a star and the other a state synonymous with the so-called laid-back lifestyle.

But such attitudes have drastically changed, according to a new study that finds the two states last in individual freedom.

The “Freedom in the 50 States” study published last week by the libertarian-leaning Mercatus Center ranks New York last and California second to last.

The survey is based on fiscal issues such as job prospects and tax rates, regulatory policies that include property rights and personal freedoms such as gun laws.

“When it comes to overall freedom, New York ranks dead last,” the study’s authors said.

They point out that New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg has taken away – or at least tried to take away – several personal freedoms, including his failed effort to outlaw the sale of sodas 16 ounces and larger.

“Though the law ran into a judicial buzz saw on the eve of its enactment earlier this month, it demonstrates the attitude city and state legislators have toward their constituents,” the authors noted.

Bloomberg has already imposed a stiff tax on cigarette sales and is a leading advocate for tougher gun laws.

In addition, New Yorkers pay a state income tax of 14 percent.

“Even New Yorkers who don’t care about sweet drinks have to deal with the highest state and local tax burden in the country,” the authors wrote.

The result is New Yorkers are voting with their feet, with roughly 1.7 million leaving between 2000 and 2010, though newborns and new immigrants are keeping the state’s population steady, according to the study.

“We’re not living in a police state,” White Plains attorney John Murtagh told CBS New York. “But the economics of New York clearly don’t work. And then you see things like Mike Bloomberg and his Big Gulp sodas.”

The top five states with the most freedom are North  Dakota, South Dakota, Tennessee, New Hampshire and Oklahoma, according to the study from the center, at George Mason University in Virginia.

North Dakota came in first in large part based of its “very low taxes” and government debt, the authors said. “However, its spending is uncharacteristically high.”

The three other lowest ranking states are Rhode Island, Hawaii and New Jersey, in descending order.

The study authors said California’s biggest problem is business regulation, though a recent attempt to impose a higher tax rate on the state’s highest earners has become a major complaint among residents.

“The Golden State, with hundreds of miles of picturesque Pacific coastline, nonetheless managed to drive off a net of 1.5 million residents between 2000 and 2010 — over  4 percent of its 2000 population,” the authors wrote.

They also pointed out Californians‘ personal income contracted by 0.4 percent a year in the seven years before the Great Recession struck, a record worse than any other state besides Michigan.
