Glenn Beck’s Bold Predictions

Glenn-Beck2-620x312

In the Last Days there shall be Wars and Rumors of Wars

Matthew 24:6

Glenn Beck is well-known for making ominous predictions and describing them in detail on his numerous chalkboards. On his radio program Tuesday, Beck added to one of his boldest predictions ever and showed why he thinks World War III could be in the making.

In 2011, when he was still at Fox News, Beck said the “Arab Spring” would not usher in peace, prosperity and democracy, as many were saying. Rather, Beck said the protests would become “contagious, cascade, sweep the Middle East, and begin to destabilize Europe and the rest of the world.”

Time has proven him to be correct. But Beck prays he is wrong on what comes next.

Beck said Tuesday that one of the first manifestations of the instability hitting Europe — which he predicted in 2011 — is the push to “restore the Soviet borders.”

“Next,” Beck continued, “our enemies will see our lack of unity, military and financial resolve, and [they will] collapse and transform the U.S. and the West.”

He said in a bleak tone: “The new world order will be China, Russia, socialist outliers, and poverty zones … Happy Tuesday.”

Beck explained how he arrived at the prediction, reminding listeners that former U.S. Treasury Secretary Hank Paulson recently said the Russians approached the Chinese with a plan to help collapse the U.S. economy in 2008.

China wasn’t on board at the time because it had too much invested in the United States, Beck said. But it has since begun to scale back its investments and even become “hostile” because of “what we have done with their money.”

Beck remarked: “China and Russia are beginning to work together, and both China and Russia are beginning to trade outside of the U.S. dollar, which is something entirely new and very, very dangerous because once they get off the dollar … the world will get off of the dollar.”

Another significant event to note is Poland reportedly calling up its army reservists.

“The reason why that is happening is because of what has happened in Crimea,” Beck said. “Anybody who is in a former Soviet state sees the writing on the wall, that Putin can go in and do whatever he wants and nobody is going to stop him.”

Beck has long maintained that the globe is on the road to World War III, whether it U.S. military involvement in Syria that causes it, or conflict with Russia.

“Here are your choices,” Beck said. “Do nothing and look at, possibly, World War III. Because what you will see is, Russia will start to sweep across and gather its old satellites — and then possibly more than its old satellites — and we will have the same situation that we had on our hands in World War II … So you can either sit it out and do nothing, which is quite honestly my recommendation … or you can get involved in World War III.”

SENATE

Senate report: Benghazi attackers tied to Al Qaeda groups

A comprehensive report by the Senate Intelligence Committee definitively declared that individuals tied to Al Qaeda groups were involved in the Benghazi attack, challenging recent claims that the terror network was not a factor.

The report was released Monday, nearly one year after then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, under congressional questioning over the nature of the attack, shouted at lawmakers: “What difference, at this point, does it make?”

The administration initially claimed the attack sprung out of a protest, but has since given a more complicated assessment. Still, administration officials all along have downplayed Al Qaeda involvement, recently seizing on a New York Times report that supported those claims.

While the report does not implicate Al Qaeda “core” — the leadership believed to be in the Pakistan region — it does blame some of the most influential Al Qaeda branches, including Al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP) and Al Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb (AQIM).

“Individuals affiliated with terrorist groups, including AQIM, Ansar al-Sharia, AQAP, and the Mohammad Jamal Network, participated in the September 11, 2012, attacks,” the report said. The militant Ansar al-Sharia was, separately, labeled by the State Department as a terror group last week, in part over its alleged involvement in the Benghazi strike.

The Senate committee report stressed that the intelligence still suggests the attack was not “highly coordinated,” but rather “opportunistic” – possibly put in place in “short order” after protests over an anti-Islam film elsewhere in the region.

“It remains unclear if any group or person exercised overall command and control of the attacks,” the report said. The report, though, reiterated that there was no protest in Benghazi before the attack.

The Senate panel report also dove extensively into what went wrong at the U.S. mission in Benghazi before the attack. The committee determined the attack was “preventable” and the administration failed to respond to “ample” warnings that security was deteriorating before Sept. 11, 2012.

The report faulted the State and Defense departments. It also cited the failure of the Obama administration to “bring the attackers to justice.”

Specifically, the report said the intelligence community provided “ample strategic warning” that security in eastern Libya was deteriorating and U.S. personnel “were at risk.” The report said multiple “tripwires” were crossed signaling security problems, and the State Department should have increased its security posture in response. This included an Aug. 16, 2012, cable from Ambassador Chris Stevens raising security concerns, and prior attacks on westerners in Benghazi.

The report also detailed a possible failed ambush, where attackers tried to lure the CIA into the hospital where Stevens’ body was being held.

The CIA did not take the bait.

“The committee worked on a bipartisan basis to investigate the various allegations that have come out since the terrorist attacks in Benghazi in September 2012 and to get to the truth about what happened leading up to, during and after the attacks,” Senate Intelligence Committee Chairwoman Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif., said in a statement, adding she hopes the report puts “conspiracy theories” to rest.

Sen. Saxby Chambliss, R-Ga., top Republican on the panel, also said the report provides “needed and deserved answers.”

“In spite of the deteriorating security situation in Benghazi and ample strategic warnings, the United States Government simply did not do enough to prevent these attacks and ensure the safety of those serving in Benghazi,” he said.

Obama’s Nuclear Deal with Iran Creates Fallout

nukebombcityHat tip to Fox News and The Blaze for these reports

Netanyahu Did Not Hold Back When Reacting to Iran Nuclear Agreement

Israeli government ministers lambasted the Iran nuclear deal to which the U.S. and five other nations agreed Sunday morning, calling it a “bad deal,” while Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu called the deal a “historic mistake.”

“What was accomplished last night in Geneva is not a historic agreement; it’s a historic mistake,” Netanyahu said during his weekly cabinet meeting on Sunday. “Today the world has become much more dangerous, because the most dangerous regime in the world took a meaningful step toward acquiring the most dangerous weapon in the world.”

Netanyahu thus directly contradicted President Barack Obama’s assessment that the deal would open “a new path toward a world that is more secure” as well as Secretary of State John Kerry’s assurances that the deal would make Israel and other U.S. allies safer.

“For the first time the world’s leading powers agreed to the enrichment of uranium in Iran, while ignoring the Security Council resolutions that they themselves championed,” the prime minister said according to the Times of Israel. “These sanctions have been removed for cosmetic Iranian concessions that can be canceled in weeks. This agreement and what it means threaten many countries, and including, of course, Israel. Israel is not bound by this agreement. The regime in Iran is committed to Israel’s destruction and Israel has the right and responsibility to defend itself, by itself, against any threat.”

“This is a bad deal. It grants Iran exactly what it wanted, both a significant easing in sanctions and preservation of the most significant parts of its nuclear program,” an unnamed official in Netanyahu’s office said earlier on Sunday.

Capitol Hill skepticism over Iran nuclear deal results in bipartisan call for more sanctions

Congress is voicing widespread, bipartisan skepticism about the deal between the United States and Iran to curb that country’s nuclear program, with a group of top senators vowing Sunday to impose more sanctions on the isolated Middle East country.

The announcement follows the overnight deal in which the U.S. and five other world powers agreed to ease billions of dollars worth of import-export sanctions in exchange for Iran curbing its nuclear-enrichment program and a range of reaction off Capitol Hill.

“A nuclear weapons-capable Iran presents a grave threat to the national security of the United States and its allies and we are committed to preventing Iran from acquiring this capability,” the group said. “We will work together to reconcile Democratic and Republican proposals over the coming weeks and to pass bipartisan Iran sanctions legislation as soon as possible.”

The group of 15 senators included Democrats Ben Cardin of Maryland and Bob Menendez of New Jersey, as well as Republicans Bob Corker of Tennessee and John Cornyn of Texas.

Corker, the top Republican on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, told “Fox News Sunday” that Iran was celebrating because its deal overnight with the U.S. and the five other world powers allows it to continue to enrich uranium while getting billions in crippling sanctions lifted.

“They’re spiking the ball in the end zone,” Corker said.

He also said his greatest concern was that the Obama administration wouldn’t follow through on the terms of the deal — including daily inspections on Iran’s nuclear facilities and ensuring that the country sticks to new thresholds for nuclear enrichment — below levels toward building a nuclear weapon.

He also repeatedly said he didn’t want the interim deal to “become the norm” and suggested Congress is ready to reinstate sanctions and impose more.

The key points of the deal require Iran to halt progress toward its disputed nuclear program, in exchange for modest relief from U.S. economic sanctions that include now having access to $4.2 billion from oil sales.

Iran agrees to turn off centrifuges, stop construction and fuel production at an unfinished nuclear reactor, limit its enrichment of uranium – needed to make a nuclear bomb — to 5 percent and dilute its stockpile of 20 percent-enriched uranium.

Menendez, the foreign relations committee chairman, was among the most critical Democrats.

“The interim agreement reached is but a beginning and a product of that policy,” he said in a separate statement. “In my view, this agreement did not proportionately reduce Iran’s nuclear program for the relief it is receiving. Given Iran’s history of duplicity, it will demand ongoing, on the ground verification.”

California Sen. Dianne Feinstein, chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee, offered what appears to be some of the most unequivocal support for the deal.

“I support the agreement … which I believe is a significant step toward solving one of the most difficult security challenges facing the world today,” she said, while also expressing caution. “By any standard, this agreement is a giant step forward and should not be undermined by additional sanctions at this time.”

Cornyn was among the most critical of the historic deal that President Obama is hailing as an “important first step.”

“Amazing what WH will do to distract attention from O-care” tweeted Cornyn, referring to the White House and ObamaCare.

His remark drew sharp rebuke from Obama 2008 presidential campaign manager David Ploufee.

“No, a real distraction would be war. Like Iraq,” he tweeted in response.

Well Mr. President, a fine mess you’ve gotten us in to this time.  Will you ever learn or is that beyond the ability of a community organizer?

America has gone from bad to worse under your feeble socialistic agenda and now the world has become a cup of trembling because of your narrow view of what is happening in the Middle East.

You seem to think the world is wrong and you are right in spite of the glaring facts in front of you.

Perhaps you would have been better off had you listened to Glenn Beck’s warnings on the Middle East instead of trying to make him out to be a right wing loon.

He has been proven so very right and you have proven yourself to be so very wrong time and again.

Barack Obama’s elusive Red Line in the sand is just that, elusive.  Yeah, he said it but then he didn’t.  You see the U.N. and 98% of the worlds countries said it according to Barack.  So once again we see this weak feeble president passing the buck to cover his own butt instead of manning up to his own ultimatum.

Mr. President, do you remember saying this?:

Obama puts America in Dire Distress

President Obama’s Forward 2012 Campaign has led this Country back to the days of a pre World War 2  economy and Depression.

His Middle East Policies have led us into a retreat world wide unlike anything we have ever seen before.  One has to wonder if the stage is being set for World War 3.

State Department urges American citizens to leave Yemen amid terror threat

The State Department on Tuesday ordered all non-essential personnel to leave the U.S. Embassy in Yemen and urged all American citizens currently in that country to depart following the threat by Al Qaeda that has triggered temporary shutdowns of 19 American diplomatic posts across the Middle East and Africa.

The department said in a travel warning that it had ordered the departure of non-emergency U.S. government personnel from Yemen “due to the continued potential for terrorist attacks” and said U.S. citizens in Yemen should leave immediately because of an “extremely high” security threat level.

“As staff levels at the Embassy are restricted, our ability to assist U.S. citizens in an emergency and provide routine consular services remains limited and may be further constrained by the fluid security situation,” the travel warning said. The U.S. Embassy is located in Sanaa, the capital of Yemen.

Don’t be Deceived America

Here are the Real Issues we face today

Secret courts. Secret emails. Phone surveillance. Drones. The list of cloak-and-dagger tactics employed by the Obama administration — and those that preceded it — keeps growing, as NSA leaker Ed Snowden feeds classified materials to the media and other reports show the extent of the U.S. government’s more opaque dealings.

The latest was a report by The Associated Press that said the administration had military files about the Navy SEAL raid on Usama bin Laden’s hideout transferred to the CIA, where they would be harder to uncover by the press and public.

If this were any other administration, perhaps the fallout would be minimal. But President Obama ran on a message of open government. When he was sworn into office in 2009, he declared his presidency would be “the most open and transparent in history.”

Now in his second term, those claims have been challenged by a host of revelations — from controversies over secret mails to the steady drip of information about NSA surveillance. FoxNews.com takes a look at six controversies that have clouded the transparency message.

  • 1Secret Emails

    AP

Arizona Sen. John McCain is still trying to get answers out of the Obama administration on why several of the president’s political appointees were caught using supposedly secret government email accounts to conduct official business.

“Four years ago you pledged to usher in a new era of government transparency,” McCain wrote in a June 17 letter to Obama. “Since then, however, your administration has habitually circumvented congressional oversight.”

McCain’s letter follows an investigation by The Associated Press that showed several of Obama’s high-level political appointees have been using private emails to do business.

Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius, and former EPA Administrator Lisa Jackson, are just two of the federal officials who maintained private email accounts.

When asked about the account, Sebelius denied it was “secret.”

“There’s a public email and a private email,” she said, adding that anyone could formally request to have access to the information.

Sebelius said she needed a second account to deal with the influx of messages which sometimes reached 28,000. Administration officials defended the use of secondary accounts and said they are needed to keep their primary inboxes from overflowing. But others remain concerned that top-level government officials could hide sensitive information in the accounts that might go unchecked in FOIA requests.

  • 2Surveillance Nation

    AP

When former National Security Agency contractor Edward Snowden told The Guardian and The Washington Post newspapers that the NSA could use its online data-mining system to monitor people without a warrant, several lawmakers spoke out on the practice that to many crossed a privacy line.

President Obama went on PBS and said he encouraged public debate on the balance between privacy and national security but critics say his words, and his administration’s actions just don’t jibe.

During a rare appearance on Capitol Hill in June, NSA Director Gen. Keith Alexander said the two programs disclosed by Snowden — one that gathers U.S. phone records and another designed to track Internet servers – were crucial in the fight against terrorism.

Alexander, also head of U.S. Cyber Command, said the government’s sweeping surveillance programs have helped thwart dozens of terrorist plots, including one on New York City’s subway system. Alexander’s testimony marked the first time an NSA official answered to Congress following the news that the agency was collecting phone records and Internet content.

  • 3Fuzzy on FOIA?

    AP

It hasn’t been so sunny in the Obama White House for journalists and members of the public looking for information. Cause of Action – a conservative group that rates the transparency of government – gave the administration a C- for failing to provide requests for documents made under the Freedom of Information Act.

The group found that nearly three quarters of government agencies were unable to respond to their request for information within a 30-day window which is required by law.

A report released earlier this year by The Associated Press found the Obama administration frequently cited national security and internal deliberations as reasons why they could not comply with FOIA requests. The administration fully rejected more than one-third of requests, a slight increase over 2011, including cases when it couldn’t find records, a person refused to pay for copies or the request was determined to be improper.

It’s been a rough few months for the Internal Revenue Service. In May, Americans were rocked by revelations that the tax collecting agency had unfairly targeted conservative groups for extra scrutiny when they applied for tax-exempt status.

Both parties and President Obama strongly condemned the tax agency’s actions, which led to the ousting of acting IRS Director Steven Miller. When asked if he supported the appointment of a special prosecutor, though, Obama said he thought working with Congress to investigate the case would be sufficient. That didn’t sit well with some lawmakers.

“The unifying themes of this town are an arrogance and view of the machinery of government to be a tool of partisanship,” Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, said. Republicans, who have held a series of hearings, remain concerned that the full story behind the scandal has not yet been told.

A top official implicated, Lois Lerner, recently refused to testify by citing her Fifth Amendment rights, though lawmakers are trying to compel her to return.

In July, acting IRS Commissioner Danny Werfel told workers the agency would be canceling employee bonuses for managers and is working to cancel bonuses for union workers too.

Republicans, despite extracting reams of documents and hours of testimony out of the Obama administration on the matter, are still fighting for more details about the Operation Fast and Furious debacle.

The gunwalking program was the largest in U.S. history and was run out of an Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives field office in Arizona. The plan was to sell guns to buyers and trace them in the black market as they crossed the U.S.-Mexico border, with the expectation they would lead federal officials to drug cartel leaders. The plan failed, and congressional inquiries followed.

As part of the fallout, Attorney General Eric Holder became the first Obama administration official to be held in contempt by the House for failing to cooperate with an official inquiry and hand over documents related to the 2009 plan. Republicans continue to fight in court for those documents — which Obama locked down by claiming executive privilege.

When pressed by lawmakers for information on the program, Holder advised the president that releasing documents related to Fast and Furious “would raise substantial separation of powers concerns” and potentially create an imbalance in the relationship” between Congress and the White House.

In July, Justice Department records linked two more deaths, including the fatal shooting of a police chief in Mexico, to the operation. According to Mexican officials, 210 people have either been killed or wounded as a result of Fast and Furious.

  • 6ObamaCare: Behind Closed Doors?

    AP

When President Obama was on the campaign trail, he talked a good game about making the government more transparent. Specifically, he said he’d open up negotiations on what would come to be known as the Affordable Care Act, commonly referred to as ObamaCare, to the public. He was quoted in the press several times saying negotiations would be open to C-SPAN cameras.

“I’m going to have all the negotiations around a big table,” he said during a 2008 campaign event. “We’ll have doctors and nurses and hospital administrators. Insurance companies, drug companies – they’ll get a seat at the table, they just won’t be able to buy every chair. But what we will do is we’ll have the negotiations televised on C-SPAN.”

    That did not happen.

More questions were being raised this week about the law, after the administration announced ahead of the July 4th holiday that it was delaying a key insurance mandate in the law. Lawmakers want to know what led to that decision, and what the fiscal consequences will be.

Obama tries to refocus message on economy amid summer setbacks

ObamaCare is getting rickety. The IRS scandal is expanding. And every few days, a new leak emerges about another U.S. surveillance tactic.

Time to change the subject?

President Obama, whose administration is grappling with a succession of burgeoning scandals and policy headaches, is trying to hit the reset as the summer drags on without any outright second-term victories under his belt. That effort begins Wednesday, when the president plans to kick off a series of addresses on an issue not without its own troubles — the economy.

Obama’s team tried to build the anticipation on Sunday, with senior adviser Dan Pfeiffer sending out an enthusiastic email about the upcoming event at an Illinois college — one Obama previously visited as a U.S. senator.

“This Wednesday, almost five years after the financial crisis fueled a devastating recession, and two years after a debate over whether or not America would pay its bills that harmed our recovery, the President will return to Knox College to kick off a series of speeches that will lay out his vision for rebuilding an economy that puts the middle class and those fighting to join it front and center. He’ll talk about the progress we’ve made together, the challenges that remain, and the path forward,” Pfeiffer wrote.

The White House says the Wednesday speech at Knox College in Galesburg, Ill., will be the first of many speeches on the economy Obama intends to deliver over the next several weeks ahead of key budget deadlines in the fall. A new fiscal year begins in October, and the government will soon hit its borrowing limit.

But the speech also comes as the administration tries to shake off a string of setbacks.

The administration earlier this month delayed a key provision of the federal health care overhaul — a move which raised broader questions about the law’s implementation, and prompted the House to vote last week for a delay of the law’s insurance coverage requirements. Republicans still want to repeal the law entirely.

Separately, the controversy over the IRS’ targeting of conservative groups — a practice first revealed in May — continues to build. While House Democrats allege that liberal groups may have been targeted too, House Republicans held a high-profile hearing last week where a retired worker alleged a political appointee’s office was involved in screening Tea Party applications.

Add to that the trouble the administration, and Congress, have had on several legislative fronts. A comprehensive immigration bill cleared the Senate, but House Republican leaders are throwing the brakes on the legislation. House Speaker John Boehner again made clear in an interview on Sunday that the House will break the issue into smaller bills.

“The House does not like the Senate bill. It’s one big, massive bill ,” Boehner said on CBS’ “Face the Nation. “What we’re going to do in the House is we’re dealing with this in a common sense, step-by-step approach.”

Congress still hasn’t passed a bill to roll back a recent hike on federally subsidized student loan rates — something Obama has deemed a priority.

And the recent overthrow of Mohammed Morsi in Egypt has strained the administration to articulate a new policy toward the crucial Middle East country. It has so far declined to label the overthrow a coup, mindful of provisions that would require the U.S. to cut off military aid to the country. But it’s also unclear whether the Egyptian military, which orchestrated the overthrow, will move quickly to call elections.

Pfeiffer, in his email to supporters, suggested the controversies in Washington over scandals and other issues are a distraction.

“The president thinks Washington has largely taken its eye off the ball on the most important issue facing the country,” Pfeiffer said Sunday evening in a message sent to the White House’s public email list. “Instead of talking about how to help the middle class, too many in Congress are trying to score political points, re-fight old battles and trump up phony scandals.”

White House Press Secretary Jay Carney said Monday that Obama will be talking about where the economy needs to go from here.

“We have come a long way from the depths of the Great Recession,” he said.

In his economic pitch, Obama will talk Wednesday about efforts to expand manufacturing, sign up the uninsured for health care coverage, revitalize the housing industry and broaden educational opportunities for preschoolers and college students. He will also promote the economic benefits of the immigration overhaul.

Obama is pushing to end the federal budget cuts that kicked in this year so they don’t extend into the next fiscal year. That could create a showdown with congressional Republicans in September, as the end of the current fiscal year approaches. Some Republicans also want more deficit reduction as a price for raising the debt ceiling, a bargain Obama says he will not make.

Republicans are fundamentally opposed to Obama’s mix of budget cuts and tax increases. It wasn’t until after last year’s election that Republicans agreed to increase taxes for the wealthiest Americans in a deal that kept taxes for most Americans at rates set during the administration of President George W. Bush.

Appearing on CBS’ “Face the Nation” Sunday, Boehner said the way to get the economy moving again is by stopping unnecessary regulations and bringing the federal deficit under control.

Describing “this new normal of slow economic growth, no increase in jobs that are available, wages are being basically frozen,” Boehner said: “We’re squeezing the middle class. And I would argue the president’s policies are getting in the way of the economy growing, whether it’s Obamacare, whether it’s all these needless regulations that are coming out of the government.”

Pfeiffer said Obama will unveil some new ideas, outline steps Congress can take and identify measures he can initiate on his own.

“He’ll talk about the progress we’ve made together, the challenges that remain and the path forward,” Pfeiffer said.
