The History of President Obama’s Vehicle Debacles in the News

2009-04-30-AFOSK

How can anyone ever forget that Air Force One Photo Op Ordered by President Obama early in his first term?  Air Force One buzzed New York City complete with fighter escort.  New Yorkers watched in horror as they thought 9/11 was happening all over again.

Some say Air Force One is capable of ‘Time Travel’ but I don’t believe that…

Then there was that debacle in Spain when President Obama’s Limo got hung up on a speed bump. Was it just a right wing conspiracy to make the President look bad?

OBAMACARE BACKFIRE – It Protects Second Amendment Gun Rights!

shutterstock_67163020-641x375 Hat tip to Hot Air.com for this report

Subject: Good News For Gun Owners

Looks like Obama should have read the “Obamacare” law before he signed it, OR he was so eager to get “Obamacare” that he didn’t care about the “gun owners” clause that was in it!

So, Obama was either stupid for not reading the bill OR knew the clause was necessary to get his “Obamacare” passed, so that his ego could soar!

Wednesday, it was discovered that hidden deep within the massive 2800-page bill called Obamacare, there is a Senate Amendment protecting the right to keep and bear arms.

It seems that in their haste to cram socialized medicine down the
throats of the American people, then-Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D CA) and Barack Obama overlooked Senate amendment 3276, Sec. 2716, part c.

According to that amendment, the government cannot collect “any information relating to the lawful ownership or possession of a firearm or ammunition.” This means that the government CANNOT mandate firearm registration. No registration, no confiscation. Poor ol’ Joe Biden, he spent the last couple of weeks focusing on making a law requiring registration. Good thing is though, the amendment also states that not
even an executive order can override the amendment

CNN is now referring to it as “a gift to the nation’s powerful gun lobby.”And according to Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV), that’s exactly right. He says he personally added the provision in order to keep the NRA from getting involved in the legislative fight over Obamacare, which was so ubiquitous in 2010.

(You can find this information in Section 2716 of the Obamacare Law)

It looks like Harry Reid actually helped out firearm owners without even realizing it. Thanks Harry!!

The U.S. Postal Service was established in 1775. You have had 234 years to get it right and it is broke.

Social Security was established in 1935. You have had 74 years to get it right and it is broke.

Fannie Mae was established in 1938. You have had 71 years to get it right and it is broke.

War on Poverty started in 1964. You have had 45 years to get it right; $1 trillion of our money is confiscated each year and transferred to “the poor” and they only want more.

Medicare and Medicaid were established in 1965. You have had 44 years to get it right and they are broke.

Freddie Mac was established in 1970. You have had 39 years to get it right and it is broke.

The Department of Energy was created in 1977 to lessen our dependence on foreign oil. It has ballooned to 16,000 employees with a budget of $24 billion a year and we import more oil than ever before. You had 32 years to get it right and it is an abysmal failure.

Barack Obama’s Great Entitlement Society by the Numbers

121

Barack Obama’s Great Entitlement Society

or the

Redistribution of Wealth?

The percentages those on welfare by race.

As of 2011  they are listed below in descending order by percentage.
Black-39.8%
White-38.8%
Hispanic-15.7%
Other-3.3%
Asian-2.4%

To break down these numbers, we look at how many Whites are in the population as a WHOLE.  If Blacks make up less 14% of the population and are almost 40% of all recipients, then they represent about 2.5 times their actual population.

Since Whites are over 50% of the total US pop., they represent less than their overall piece of the pie, population-wise.

Hispanics are at least 15% of the general population, so they take only about as much as what their population represents.

Why am I writing this?

Because I am tired of the misrepresentations on this issue.

I read there are many claiming that more Whites are on welfare than Blacks (not true, in terms of raw numbers), yet not accounting for the fact that there are over 4X as many Whites in this country than Blacks!

In statistics, you cannot go by mere numbers.

Only if the playing field is exactly equal, which it rarely is!
This thread was started, not to be racist, but to keep it real.

After all, there are some legitimate reasons for Blacks to be on welfare more than Whites.

The worst thing anyone can do is be in denial

Remembering when the expression Happy New Year actually meant something

obama-big-brother msnbc_thumb[2]

A message to America from the

Grey-Haired Brigade

They like to refer to us as senior citizens, old fogies, geezers, and in some cases dinosaurs. Some of us are “Baby Boomers” getting ready to retire. Others have been retired for some time.

We walk a little slower these days and our eyes and hearing are not what they once were. We have worked hard, raised our children, worshiped our God and grown old together.

Yes, we are the ones some refer to as being over the hill, and that is probably true. But before writing us off completely, there are a few things that need to be taken into consideration.

In school we studied English, history, math, and science which enabled us to lead America into the technological age. Most of us remember what outhouses were, many of us with firsthand experience. We remember the days of telephone
party-lines, 25 cent gasoline, and milk and ice being delivered to our homes. For those of you who don’t know what an icebox is, today they are electric and referred to as refrigerators. A few even remember when cars were started with a crank. Yes, we lived those days.

We are probably considered old fashioned and out-dated by many. But there are a few things you need to remember before completely writing us off. We won World War II, fought in Korea and Viet Nam. We can quote The Pledge of Allegiance, and know where to place our hand while doing so. We wore the uniform of our country with pride and lost many friends on the battlefield. We didn’t fight for the Socialist States of America; we fought for the “Land of the Free and the Home of the Brave.” We wore different uniforms but carried the same flag.

We know the words to the Star Spangled Banner, America, and America the Beautiful by heart, and you may even see some tears running down our cheeks as we sing. We have lived what many of you have only read in history books and we feel no obligation to apologize to anyone for America.

Yes, we are old and slow these days but rest assured, we have at least one good fight left in us. We have loved this country, fought for it, and died for it, and now we are going to save it. It is our country and nobody is going to take it away from us. We took oaths to defend America against all enemies, foreign and domestic, and that is an oath we plan to keep. There are those who want to destroy this land we love but, like our founders, there is no way we are going to remain silent.

It was mostly the young people of this nation who elected Obama and the Democratic Congress in 2008. You fell for the “Hope and Change” which in reality was nothing but “Hype and Lies.”

You have tasted socialism and seen evil face to face, and have found you did like it after all.

You make a lot of noise, but most are all too interested in their careers or “Climbing the Social Ladder” to be involved in such mundane things as Patriotism.

Many of you fell for the Great Lie yet again in 2012 and are now having some buyer’s remorse as you should.

With all the education we gave you these past four years, you didn’t have sense enough to see through the lies and instead drank more of the  Kool-Aid.

Now you’re paying the price and complaining about it. No jobs, lost mortgages, higher taxes, and less freedom.

This is what you voted for again and this is what you got.

We entrusted you with the Torch of Liberty and you traded it for Entitlements and a Free Ride.

This land does not belong to the man in the White House nor to the likes of Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid.

It belongs to We the People and  We the People plan to Reclaim our land and our Freedom. We hope that next time, if there is one, you will do a better job of preserving it and passing it along to our grandchildren.

So if you ever have the chance to say the Pledge of Allegiance again, stand up, put your hand over your heart, honor Our Country, and Apologize to America and the

Grey-Haired Brigade

The Oppression of America has begun…

darthmaul1

There was a chemistry professor in a large college that had some exchange students in the class.

One day while the class was in the lab, the professor noticed one young man, an exchange student, who kept rubbing his back and stretching as if his back hurt. The professor asked the young man what was the matter.

The student told him he had a bullet lodged in his back. He had been shot while fighting communists in his native country who were trying to overthrow his country’s government and install a new communist regime.

In the midst of his story, he looked at the professor and asked a strange question. He asked: “Do you know how to catch wild pigs?”

The professor thought it was a joke and asked for the punch line.

The young man said that it was no joke. “You catch wild pigs by finding a suitable place in the woods and putting corn on the ground.
The pigs find it and begin to come every day to eat the free corn.

“When they are used to coming every day, you put a fence down one side of the place where they are used to coming.
When they get used to the fence, they begin to eat the corn again and you put up another side of the fence.

“They get used to that and start to eat again. You continue until you have all four sides of the fence up with a gate in the last side.

“The pigs, which are used to the free corn, start to come through the gate to eat that free corn again.

You then slam the gate on them and catch the whole herd.

Suddenly the wild pigs have lost their freedom.

They run around and around inside the fence, but they are caught.

Soon they go back to eating the free corn.

They are so used to it that they have forgotten how to forage in the woods for themselves, so they accept their captivity.”

The young man then told the professor that is exactly what he sees happening in America .

The government keeps pushing us toward Marxist/Communism and keeps spreading the free corn out in the form of programs such as supplemental income, tax credit for unearned income, tax exemptions, tobacco subsidies, dairy subsidies, payments not to plant crops (CRP), welfare, medicine, drugs, etc.
While we continually lose our freedoms, just a little at a time.

BIG BIRD and AARP Flip Off Obama Campaign Ads

Hat tip to Fox News for this story

Angry birds on Sesame Street want Obama to take down PBS ad

Big Bird will not be anyone’s political puppet.

Sesame Workshop has asked the Obama campaign to take down a new TV ad that prominently features the famous talking bird, in a satirical spot mocking Mitt Romney for calling for an end to PBS subsidies.

“Sesame Workshop is a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization and we do not endorse candidates or participate in political campaigns. We have approved no campaign ads, and as is our general practice, have requested that the ad be taken down,” Sesame Workshop said in a statement.

An Obama campaign official said it has received the request and “will review their concerns.”

The statement follows a week of Big Bird saturation in the media and on the campaign trail.

Romney touched off the frenzy when he said at last week’s debate he wants to “stop the subsidy to PBS” even though “I like Big Bird.”

The line took off on Twitter. “Saturday Night Live” included a Big Bird bit. Obama has repeatedly mocked Romney for the line in his post-debate stump speeches. And the Obama campaign ad released Monday featured a menacing voiceover warning of Romney’s anti-Big Bird agenda.

“Big, yellow, a menace to our economy. Mitt Romney knows it’s not Wall Street you have to worry about, it’s Sesame Street,” the voice over says. “Mitt Romney, taking on our enemies no matter where they nest.”

The Romney campaign said its rivals were distracting from bigger issues.

“Four years ago, President Obama said that if you don’t have a record to run on, ‘you make a big election about small things.’ With 23 million people struggling for work, incomes falling, and gas prices soaring, Americans deserve more from their president,” spokeswoman Amanda Henneberg said.

AARP objects to Obama invoking group’s support during debate

The AARP, which put itself in the middle of the health care debate by endorsing ObamaCare, now is telling President Obama to keep the group out of his political talking points.

The nation’s leading senior advocacy organization objected after the president during Wednesday’s debate twice mentioned the AARP while defending his health care plan and attacking Mitt Romney’s plans for Medicare.

The AARP posted a blog saying that while the group is “grateful” the candidates had a “robust” debate on health care, the organization is not aligned with either candidate.

“While we respect the rights of each campaign to make its case to voters, AARP has never consented to the use of its name by any candidate or political campaign. AARP is a nonpartisan organization and we do not endorse political candidates nor coordinate with any candidate or political party,” the group said.

Obama invoked the AARP during the Denver debate because the group had endorsed his health care overhaul earlier in his term. He used that endorsement to challenge Romney’s claims that the law’s cuts to Medicare would weaken the health care system.

“And this is not my own — only my opinion. AARP thinks that the savings that we obtained from Medicare bolster the system, lengthen the Medicare trust fund by eight years. Benefits were not affected at all,” Obama said.

He went on to say that Romney’s plan, which he describes as a “voucher system,” would put seniors “at the mercy” of insurance companies.

“And this is the reason why AARP has said that your plan would weaken Medicare substantially. And that’s why they were supportive of the approach that we took,” Obama said.

The AARP, while having gotten involved in the health care debate, stressed that it is trying not to take sides in the presidential race itself.

Some, though, have questioned the AARP’s objectivity.

Sen. Jim DeMint, R-S.C., in a recent op-ed in Politico, said the group “poses as a disinterested senior advocate” while taking positions that “just happen to coincide with its financial interests.”

He claimed that group’s support of the health care law could yield “windfall profits” by forcing seniors off Medicare Advantage and into a separate supplemental coverage program.

“AARP knows it can protect its financial interests by aligning with Democrats, no matter what its members think,” DeMint wrote.

Romney said during Wednesday’s debate that his plan for overhauling Medicare would give seniors a decade from now a choice between traditional Medicare and private insurance.

“And by the way, if the government can be as efficient as the private sector and offer premiums that are as low as the private sector, people will be happy to get traditional Medicare or they’ll be able to get a private plan,” Romney said.

Solyndra: Obama “Built That”… We Got Stuck with the Bill

Upside Down: Tech Group Agrees to Pay $90M for Solyndra Building That Cost $300M

When TheBlaze reported on Monday that a whole bunch of discarded Solyndra tubes had been turned into a modern art display, we wondered whether this “green” energy boondoggle could get any sadder.

Turns out, it can.

Seagate Technology Plc, maker of hard drives and storage devices, has agreed to pay $90.3 million for the former manufacturing plant and headquarters building of bankrupt Solyndra LLC, which was financed by a controversial government loan, according to bankruptcy court documents,” Reuters reports.

So what’s the problem? At least the Solyndra building is one step closer to being sold, right?

Well, considering that the building originally cost $300 million, we’d say this is pretty depressing.

“Seagate’s offer will be considered an initial bid, or ‘stalking horse,’ which could be topped by a competing offer of at least $1 million more when an auction is held, according to court documents filed late Wednesday,” Reuters reports.

“Should a higher bid emerge, Seagate would be entitled to a breakup fee of $1.8 million, a little less than 2.6 percent of the technology company’s offer,” the report adds.

And Seagate wasn’t alone in its interest in the facility.

The Solyndra building “attracted interest from U.S., Chinese and European companies involved in industries such as solar energy, medical-related products, data centers and other technologies that need an ultra-clean manufacturing environment,” the report adds.

“The highest bid came from Seagate.”

Wait a minute. With more than just Seagate competing on the building, $90 million was the winning bid? Hot Air’s Ed Morrissey gives his take:

This was the best competitive price for the facility — only 30% of what the Obama administration gave Solyndra to build it in the first place. Perhaps Congress should dig further into the construction process at Solyndra to see why a facility built with $300 million of taxpayer money only had $90 million of value, because at first blush, it looks like a lot of money went elsewhere than the facility.

Of course, there could be a simple explanation that the people involved in the sale of the building simply aren’t telling us. The only thing that we know for certain is this: Taxpayers are never, ever going to get back the half-billion that went into this failed project.
