Obama’s Latest Land Grab

Obama designates national monument in LA area

SAN DIMAS, California (AP) – President Barack Obama on Friday spared from future development nearly 350,000 acres of land within the San Gabriel Mountains northeast of Los Angeles, a move that cheered environmentalists but sparked new criticism of Obama’s willingness to use his executive authority.

Obama used his authority under the federal Antiquities Act to turn the area into a national monument. He cited President Abraham Lincoln’s decision to preserve parts of the Yosemite Valley without ever having seen it as inspiration for steps he’s taken in office to preserve more than 3 million acres of public lands.

“And I’m not finished,” Obama said, making the announcement at Frank G. Bonelli Regional Park, where picturesque views of the San Gabriel Mountains under blue sky provided the backdrop. “We are looking at additional opportunities to preserve federal lands and waters, and I’ll continue to do so, especially where communities are speaking up.”

Supporters say Obama’s move will provide recreational opportunities for millions of people, particularly minorities and children, who live in Los Angeles County. The county is one of the most disadvantaged areas in terms of access to open space, according to the White House.

“For Angelenos, the San Gabriels are like having Yellowstone next door,” said Frances Beinecke, president of the Natural Resources Defense Council. “Now the 17 million people living in Greater Los Angeles can find wild beauty right in their backyards.”

Local officials and some lawmakers faulted Obama for acting without support from Congress or the public, but Obama said officials heard from a lot of urban families who said this area constituted their only outdoor space and that their children didn’t have parks.

Officials also expressed concerns about potential use restrictions on the hundreds of thousands of acres that will be forever preserved.

“Once again this administration is taking unilateral action without congressional or public input,” said House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif. “I strongly support multiple use of our national forests and other public lands, but this decision severely limits usage.”

Since taking office, Obama has created or expanded 13 national monuments across the country, including Friday’s action.

Just last month, he created the world’s largest marine preserve by expanding the Pacific Remote Islands Marine National Monument in the south-central Pacific Ocean.

Obama has designated nearly three times more land and water than any other president since Congress first passed the Antiquities Act in 1906, according to the White House.

Welcome to the

United Socialist States of America

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Social programs in the United States

Social programs in the United States are welfare subsidies designed to aid the needs of the U.S. population. Proposals for federal programs began with Theodore Roosevelt‘s New Nationalism and expanded with Woodrow Wilson‘s New Freedom, Franklin D. Roosevelt‘s New Deal, John F. Kennedy‘s New Frontier, and Lyndon B. Johnson‘s Great Society.

The programs vary in eligibility requirements and are provided by various organizations on a federal, state, local and private level. They help to provide food, shelter, education, healthcare and money to U.S. citizens through primary and secondary education, subsidies of college education, unemployment disability insurance, subsidies for eligible low-wage workers, subsidies for housing, Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program benefits, pensions for eligible persons and health insurance programs that cover public employees. The Social Security system is the largest and most prominent social aid program.[1][2] Medicare is another prominent program.

Not including Social Security and Medicare, Congress allocated almost $717 billion in Federal funds in 2010 plus $210 billion was allocated in state funds ($927 billion total) for means tested welfare programs in the United States—later (after 2010) expenditures are unknown but higher.[3] As of 2011, the public social spending-to-GDP ratio in the United States was below the OECD average.[4]

Total Social Security and Medicare expenditures in 2013 were $1.3 trillion, 8.4% of the $16.3 trillion GNP (2013) and 37% of the total Federal expenditure budget of $3.684 trillion.[5][6]

In addition to government expenditures private welfare spending in the United States is thought to be about 10% of the U.S. GDP or another $1.6 trillion.[7]

Social programs have been implemented to promote a variety of societal goals, including alleviating the effects of poverty on those earning or receiving low income or encountering serious medical problems, and ensuring retired people have a basic standard of living.

Unlike in Europe, Christian democratic and social democratic theories have not played a major role in shaping welfare policy in the United States.[9] Entitlement programs in the U.S. were virtually non-existent until the administration of Franklin Delano Roosevelt and the implementation of the New Deal programs in response to the Great Depression. Between 1932 and 1981, modern American liberalism dominated U.S. economic policy and the entitlements grew along with American middle class wealth.[10]

Eligibility for welfare benefits depends on a variety of factors, including gross and net income, family size, pregnancy, homelessness, unemployment, and serious medical conditions like blindness, kidney failure or AIDS.

Although Social Security is listed as a Socialistic Government Program I submit that by us paying into this program and heavily that it might be a stretch to say that it is entirely Socialistic in nature.

It would seem, according to Wikipedia that we are in fact a Socialist State. Although many may tend to disagree with those findings the fact remains that we have over the past 100 years or so become a government dependent country.

Perhaps Winston Churchill said it best:

America’s Sunset Years…

We have all seen and heard the lies coming from this President and his administration over these past five years not to mention all the lies and cover ups coming from our various government agencies, and yet the American people seem to just go about their daily lives completely oblivious to the destruction of our freedom and  way of life in these United States of America.

Today we find ourselves at a crossroads where one path is apathy and the other is survival. The big question we should be asking ourselves these days is whether the road less traveled will be the one that wins the day come the Mid-Term Elections this November.

With 51% of the electorate solidly behind this entitlement mentality one has to wonder when, if ever, the tide will swing back to responsibility and personal achievement through hard work and an honest days wage.

Why Americans choose Slavery while the rest of the World begs to be Free…by Brittius

shining city on a hillHat tip to Brittius for this most excellent commentary

6525ddf34b9d76e647fcc4ff6770806aBeing a Patriot, is the obligation that goes part and parcel with being born to this nation and the only way to be certain that this nation shall, remain free.
Those that do not understand this, are already, slaves.

I saw that with people in New York City in the 1960s envying the French and Bohemian life style. I spoke with a few former German soldiers, one an ex-Waffen SS trooper. I spoke to two women that were French and, were in Paris 1940.
Much of the strict laws were made lax, as the country was getting over the great Depression in 1940. My mother (still alive), says here, we had it until 1938/1939. The women said there was little to eat and absolutely nothing to waste. Not food, not anything. The government in Paris let the people live as long as nothing like murder was going on. The old German soldiers said pretty much the same thing. The Waffen SS trooper said, people, begged for something easy. Anything easy and getting over, without hard work or pain. People were poor and lowered themselves and became poorer. Females, he said, were willing to have sex for half bottle of wine and three cigarettes. Where did it get them? Only lower. Only more depraved. Then what? Hitler took Paris, and all the people were fleeing or hiding, except for a few partisan resistance people, and they gave the German troops a damned good fight. Everyone else ran, because it was easier to run.
People here, want the soft, lax life. A baby will always want the mother’s teat, until they are made to, start eating solid food. Sin is sweet. It is hard for people to migrate towards a slightly bitter hard scrabble life, so they seek what is sweet, sin.
I remember going through hamlets that were hot with firefights. NVA Regulars, not untrained VC. Fighting was brutal and also on occasion hand to hand. I recall the smoke cover, smells, at times slow motion of mayhem. Looking down the gun sights while moving, where your eye goes, so does that front sight. You think as you were trained. I’m only a teenager then, and suddenly, people run towards us, shouting in Vietnamese, they are naked. Their hands up and fingers spread as they run past us. A woman runs past holding a naked baby by one leg upside down, and all I see are human figures, I do not think like a teenager. Any one of them could try to kill us, my finger on the trigger. A shot from a hut and it draws fire. We were not teenagers, we were “terminators” for lack of a better word. The people wanted nothing to do with dying, bleeding, and suffering.
In America, people will run to whatever feeds them, clothes them, houses them, no different from any domesticated house pet. But who do we notice? The old beat-up Tom cat, the battered junkyard dog, or the animals that live in freedom. Even the lion in the zoo, seeks Freedom, because it is bred into them.

Freedom’s Last Stand…by AFVet

10177299_647274155366687_5824664780780572287_n~ Commentary by AFVet from the Samiam60 Report ~

So now the Patriots and the men and women that have served this Country and currently may have their children serving in the Armed Forces are probably worried about their future.

We are manning the gates and the watchtowers.

The enemy within is obvious to US.

It appears that it resides in the White House.

What a shame!

The commander in chief is supposed to be the one that eliminates the threats to our Country, not the one who exacerbates the chaos that is being forced upon US.

The congress is supposed to restrict the president from becoming a dictator.

Has the congress failed in their duty to the American People ?

Has the president failed in his duty to the American People ?

Has the Supreme Court failed in interpreting the Constitution of the United States ?

Barack Obama is a dictator, prove me wrong, I am open for discussion on that subject.

How did we get here ?

What happened to the

American Spirit ?

Is the ignorance that exists in this Country as far as government control a reflection of where we are or where we are going ?

The elegance of the American Spirit is still intact, and it will always be what we will depend on to restore our Country back from the devious entities that are determined to take Her down.

1377351_10202162814702325_1067070951_n

Men and Women are on the Watchtowers.

They are informed as to what is happening.

They see the destruction of this Country unfolding before their eyes.

Courage in the face of evil is what we are all about.

The American Spring is here and November is coming

1932395_687410601314428_638716584_nIn a few days America will celebrate the long awaited Spring after a most brutal Winter has left us all but exhausted.

There is another American Spring coming and Patriots across this country are gathering to once and for all put an end to the Brutal Oppression of the Obama Winter we have had to endure these past five years.

1452532_665797856797598_1767920483_nThe American people have had enough and the poll numbers are the proof in the pudding.

Obama and his cohorts are back peddling on Obamacare and running scared as the November Elections loom on the horizon.

1925329_664035887007384_3335739_nMr. President, the American people are Fed-Up and even those moderates you count on are starting to lean Right!

Make no mistake about it Mr. President, your Lame Duck Days will begin with the November Mid-Term Elections and We the People will finally begin to take back Our Country.

Remembering the Day the American Dream Died

386474_446492082080422_2043703476_n

November 4th 2008

The United States presidential election of 2008 was the 56th quadrennial presidential election. It was held on Tuesday, November 4, 2008. Democratic Party nominee Senator Barack Obama and running mate Senator Joe Biden defeated Republican Party nominee Senator John McCain and running mate Governor Sarah Palin.

I remember the day that a little known Senator from Illinois came on the world stage promising Hope and Change to a weary American populace. America had just endured a serious financial crisis and the housing bubble had all but wiped out  the American Dream.

The young Senator promised to Fundamentally Transform the United States of America offering hope to all those who had suffered under the so called Evils of Capitalism. Unemployment had hit an all time high and the American People were looking for answers.  Little did they know back then that this…

Fundamental Transformation of America

…would usher in Socialism and a Class Warfare Struggle that would forever Divide the American People.

Little did the American People know that Government would begin to control every aspect of our lives in these United States of America and little did they know that Our Freedoms would be gradually Swept Away.

1380711_604660816263547_448878160_n

Today we find ourselves caught between a rock and a hard place as the Takers continue to vote for those who offer Government Handouts rather than pulling themselves up and striving for that ever elusive…

American Dream

As the November Mid-Term Elections approach one can only hope that there are enough of us workers left to override those government leaches and bring about real change in the form of a Restoration of our once great former Republic.

For all of you who Voted for this

Hope and Change

all I can say to you folks is…

Here are some words of Wisdom

from our Chief Contributor AFVet

In my travels across the internet, I sense the outrage of the People that love this Country.

The outrage for the corruption that this regime has been allowed to perpetrate upon the economy, the military, the private sector businesses and the very will of the people that love this Country and are not finished in defending Her.

Congress in the past was conducive in allowing this regime to be established and some elements of it are still committed to keeping it in place.

In their arrogance and the desire to maintain control, they are missing a key concept of what this Country and Her people are all about.

We never give up

The present sitting congress has been stonewalled on everything from Fast and Furious to Benghazi, to the IRS debacle that could have allowed Obama to be re-elected through fraudulent poll statistics by restricting the influence of the conservative organizations that were on the front lines to try and stop the second term of an arrogant socialist that has no problem dismissing congress and the Constitution.

The people across the fruited plain see what the problem is but are becoming impatient as to the time table.

They are furious at the congress for allowing this abomination to go on for so long.

The 2014 election should prove to be the harbinger of where this Great Country is headed.

There is a Phoenix arising, have no doubt.

And when it does, the progressives will be advised to take notice.
