Those Wacko Gun Control Activists are at it again!

486114_600661426628077_925954504_n

It is common knowledge that the last two attempts at mass murder were committed using Shot Guns (most likely on the advice of Joe Biden) instead of the Semi-Automatic AR15 or AK47 large capacity clip weapons used in the past.  The gun control advocates have labeled these weapons as ‘Assault Rifles’ but just so you know, they are not.

Our government has classified an ‘Assault Rifle‘ as one that fires in ‘Fully Automatic‘ mode similar to a Machine Gun.

Well, just when you think you’ve heard it all, Fox News comes up with this latest report!

Gun control advocates vow to take fight into 2014 elections, spend millions

Gun control advocates acknowledged Sunday that they were disappointed with efforts this year to tighten firearm laws across the country but vowed to continue their fight, including spending millions on their candidates in next year’s elections.

Their comments came one year after the Sandy Hook elementary school massacre in which 20 students and six adults were fatally shot in Newtown, Conn. However, Congress failed to pass no major gun-control legislation in the aftermath.

“We get disappointed,” said Mark Kelly, who co-founded the gun-control group Americans for Responsible Solutions with wife Gabrielle Giffords, the former congresswoman who was shot on the campaign trail in 2011.

The retired astronaut and Navy captain told “Fox News Sunday” the defeat of the so-called, bipartisan Manchin-Toomey Senate gun bill was “not a good day” but that his group plans to spend $25 million in the next election cycle.

Though the focus of America’s gun debate appears to be shifting from weapons bans to keeping firearms away from criminals and the mentally ill, gun-rights advocates seem steadfast in their efforts to limit background checks and repeal laws that prevent people from defending themselves against attackers.

“There’s no victory until we get guns in school and elsewhere to protect ourselves,” Larry Pratt, executive director of Gun Owners of America, told Fox News. “The legislation that is on the books is lethal … and we simply have to get rid of them.”

Kelly said that anti-gun groups were able to spend about as much as pro-gun groups in the recent Virginia gubernatorial race in which Democrat Terry McAuliffe defeated Republican Ken Cuccinelli — a sign that the balance of power is shifting after his side got outspent in the Capitol Hill gun debates.

Carlee Soto, whose sister was killed in the Dec. 14, 2012, attack at Sandy Hook elementary, in Newtown, Conn., also acknowledged the effort to tighten gun laws has been difficult, but she remains optimistic.

“Some days I don’t want to speak in front of the camera … but my sister can’t do that,” she told Fox News. “I believe we will have sensible gun laws in the future.”

AFVet speaks out on ObamaCare with an Internet Solution

1472996_10151920215547740_2114269227_nHat tip to AFVet for this commentary

So what has the internet given us?

The ability to speak to people across the world at lightning speed.
I remember my Father saying that computers and the internet will never amount to anything.
It’s just a passing fad, a toy.
No amount of convincing on my part could change his mind.
He was a stubborn man and I was a son that just didn’t understand.

If he were alive today, he would be astounded at the powerful instrument it has become.

This brings me to my point.

Obamacare is obviously a debacle, and the republicans are possibly looking for a legislative alternative.

A legislative alternative is not what we need.

Rather, take the regulations away from the private sector, eliminate the state line restrictions that have been imposed, and allow the marketplace to do what it does best,….compete.

I can buy a book on Amazon.com, and I have no idea where the company is located, nor do I care.

If that is possible today, why can’t we buy an insurance policy in the same manner ?

The insurance companies should be able advertise across the nation with no restrictions !

The ones that can’t compete will fall by the wayside.

If that was allowed, the prices would go down, and we wouldn’t be forced to pay for maternity insurance if you are a 60 year old man or woman.

Nor would we be paying for ‘morning after pills’.

The logical, plausible aspect of this concept is I believe obvious to anyone that contains some degree of common sense.

No republican alternative.

Repeal Obamacare, and give the 85 % of the American People that were happy with their coverage to shop for it again on an open market.

The remaining 15 % can find something if they want it.

What we don’t want is the government mandating anything to people that actually have to work for a paycheck.

Should ObamaCare Queen Kathleen Sebelius Resign?

131018174011-obamacare-error-message-620xaHat tip to Fox News for this report…

Sebelius says she doesn’t ‘work for’ those calling for her resignation

SebeliusPhoenix

Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius is rebuffing calls from Republicans for her to resign over the troubled launch of the ObamaCare sign-up website, saying those asking her to resign are “people I don’t work for.”

Sebelius gave the comments on a tour Thursday of an ObamaCare call center in Phoenix, which kicks off a multi-city tour by administration officials to promote the health care law amid the website’s troubles.

Sebelius said “no one is getting fired” over the litches and that her main focus is to get the website up and running.

“The majority of people calling for me to resign I would say are people who I don’t work for, and who do not want this program to work in the first place,” she said. “I have had frequent conversations with the president and I’ve committed to him that my role is to get the program up and running and we will do just that.”

Sebelius’ comments come after Rep. John Fleming, R-La., sent a letter to President Obama signed by 33 Republican members of Congress calling for Sebelius’ resignation over the troubled health care law roll out.

“It’s clear that Secretary Sebelius has mismanaged the ObamaCare roll out and is in over her head. Before the train wreck is allowed to continue… before more taxpayer dollars are spent trying to fix what’s already wrong… and before the Secretary continues on her damage control tour, it’s time for the president to admit that, despite three-and-a-half years to prepare, his HHS Secretary has dropped the ball on this and needs to step down,” the letter reads.

Also Thursday, the contractors who built the health care website defended their work at a hearing before the House Energy and Commerce Committee, and claimed the government failed to properly test the system before launch.

CGI Federal and the other contractors repeatedly claimed that overall “end-to-end” testing was the responsibility of an agency within the Department of Health and Human Services, as was the decision to go live on Oct. 1. They suggested more time was needed to work out the kinks.

Sebelius came under fire after telling the House Energy and Commerce Committee she was not also available to testify Thursday due to a “scheduling conflict,” but then travelling to Phoenix.

Sebelius was already taking heat for snubbing the committee while planning to attend a health care gala in Boston on Wednesday night.

It’s unclear whether Sebelius’ “scheduling conflict” was the gala, the Phoenix event or neither.

The committee says Sebelius is now expected to testify next Wednesday on the health care law.

A Bad Moon has Risen over America

wallpaper_25311

Hat tip to The Orthosphere

As traditionalist conservatives, we understand that the current order, although it contains pockets of relative sanity, is, overall, hopelessly corrupt. Although we knew the chances were not good, many of us had been hoping that a renewal of American society could somehow be brought about. We knew that the old America—the predominantly white, Christian America of ordered liberty under God and the Constitution—was in some senses gone. But while the permanent loss of America was seen as possible, even likely, it was not foremost in our minds. We generally focused on what could be done to oppose liberalism.

That has changed. While the recent presidential election did not change anything fundamental (elections cannot do that), it did reveal that even a President who obviously hates and opposes the traditional American way of life can easily be reelected. It revealed that a president who is incompetent at doing what he should, and very competent at pursuing leftist-inspired destruction, can gain the votes of the majority. It revealed anew that in the new America the enemies of a decent order have all the advantages. Barring a miracle, we cannot see how it will be possible to revive a properly-ordered (or at least adequately-ordered) American nation from sea to shining sea.

This insight did not just come from the recent election. Nearly a year ago, for example, Lawrence Auster announced that he no longer believed it possible for America to reject liberalism, and that, in his words, “…liberalism will continue until it has destroyed our civilization, and liberalism itself, having been deprived of its host, will also perish…” This conclusion was not the result of any specific event, but was rather an intuitive insight based on cumulative data.

What to Do?

It is a dreadful thing to contemplate the loss of one’s nation. An appropriate first response is mourning.

After mourning should come repentance. Part of repentance is to change our understanding of what must be done. Man naturally wants to preserve what is best about his nation, and conservatives, almost by definition, wish to defend their nation from internal (and external) enemies. It is natural for a conservative, traditionalist or otherwise, to view his task as preserving or renewing his nation.

But if this is no longer possible, what’s a conservative to do?

The Moral Majority has lost the High Ground and America has become a Liberal Prison

64227_10151541833071069_678362571_n

Here is a comment from another post in which

The Bard of the American Redoubt

makes a most disturbing statement.

Could this be true?

I come from the side that believes the hour is late. The gray state is being implemented. Citizens are disappearing, being gunned down and murdered. The FedGov has gone much further than “poking the tiger.” I don’t think these sociopaths can be reasoned with.

This reminds me of a bully and a guy in the park. The guy says “don’t touch me” The bully pokes him. The guy says, look I am backing up here, don’t come over this line, the bully crosses the line. The guy says, I am over here, WAY over here, standing under this tree, man if you keep messing with me I, I, I… I am going to do something. The bully laughs at him and continues one. The cowardice of all of us, myself included is disgusting. Basically we may not deserve liberty and freedom.

If you still think you can work this out with “normal politics” you are part of the problem.

And yea, I agree with Bill O’Reilly sometimes and not. That is ok, all thinking men will disagree at times. I will say Bill O’Reilly who gets his living from Outrage Porn doesn’t really want this system to come “unglued.” That would cost him.

The bully not only has poked you, he has bitch-slapped your wife, knocked your children’s teeth out and taken all of your money. So … what are you going to do about it? If you care, more here: http://wp.me/p2Qno5-175

In another comment we read this:

I hope what you are trying to do works. I really, really do. However to me you are like Jews trying to make nice in Germany in 1930 or so. If you think you can answer what is happening with “more faxes and voting on their electronic machines” or you don’t realize there is no longer a moral majority, taxpaying God-fearing men are now a permanent minority. Welcome to it. You don’t get that K-street pays both sides, Geb Bush or Hilary Clinton, doesn’t really matter now does it? NSA shut down? socialist state significantly reversed? There are more people who want free stuff, then tax payers. Thus who are you trying to convince to vote their free stuff way? You really think holding signs will get people to want to “work hard, and stop living off of others?” Then as I said “you are now part of the problem. A distraction (like porn) from what we must all be willing to do. From reality.” Please never say “…I didn’t see this coming…” Here is a line by Anna Barnhardt.

“You people had better man up and do something real and concrete to depose these neo-Stalinist psychopaths. Mere talk and hand-wringing leads straight to mass graves.”

http://www.barnhardt.biz/2013/10/11/history-rhymes-obamacare-website-and-the-ukrainian-wheat-farmers/

Good luck in all you do fighting for freedom.

I for one see some real merit in the comments from the

Bard of American Redoubt

and though I may not agree with all of it I certainly did have to sit up and take notice.

Change the Subject and Dodge the Scandals

Obama tries to refocus message on economy amid summer setbacks

ObamaCare is getting rickety. The IRS scandal is expanding. And every few days, a new leak emerges about another U.S. surveillance tactic.

Time to change the subject?

President Obama, whose administration is grappling with a succession of burgeoning scandals and policy headaches, is trying to hit the reset as the summer drags on without any outright second-term victories under his belt. That effort begins Wednesday, when the president plans to kick off a series of addresses on an issue not without its own troubles — the economy.

Obama’s team tried to build the anticipation on Sunday, with senior adviser Dan Pfeiffer sending out an enthusiastic email about the upcoming event at an Illinois college — one Obama previously visited as a U.S. senator.

“This Wednesday, almost five years after the financial crisis fueled a devastating recession, and two years after a debate over whether or not America would pay its bills that harmed our recovery, the President will return to Knox College to kick off a series of speeches that will lay out his vision for rebuilding an economy that puts the middle class and those fighting to join it front and center. He’ll talk about the progress we’ve made together, the challenges that remain, and the path forward,” Pfeiffer wrote.

The White House says the Wednesday speech at Knox College in Galesburg, Ill., will be the first of many speeches on the economy Obama intends to deliver over the next several weeks ahead of key budget deadlines in the fall. A new fiscal year begins in October, and the government will soon hit its borrowing limit.

But the speech also comes as the administration tries to shake off a string of setbacks.

The administration earlier this month delayed a key provision of the federal health care overhaul — a move which raised broader questions about the law’s implementation, and prompted the House to vote last week for a delay of the law’s insurance coverage requirements. Republicans still want to repeal the law entirely.

Separately, the controversy over the IRS’ targeting of conservative groups — a practice first revealed in May — continues to build. While House Democrats allege that liberal groups may have been targeted too, House Republicans held a high-profile hearing last week where a retired worker alleged a political appointee’s office was involved in screening Tea Party applications.

Add to that the trouble the administration, and Congress, have had on several legislative fronts. A comprehensive immigration bill cleared the Senate, but House Republican leaders are throwing the brakes on the legislation. House Speaker John Boehner again made clear in an interview on Sunday that the House will break the issue into smaller bills.

“The House does not like the Senate bill. It’s one big, massive bill ,” Boehner said on CBS’ “Face the Nation. “What we’re going to do in the House is we’re dealing with this in a common sense, step-by-step approach.”

Congress still hasn’t passed a bill to roll back a recent hike on federally subsidized student loan rates — something Obama has deemed a priority.

And the recent overthrow of Mohammed Morsi in Egypt has strained the administration to articulate a new policy toward the crucial Middle East country. It has so far declined to label the overthrow a coup, mindful of provisions that would require the U.S. to cut off military aid to the country. But it’s also unclear whether the Egyptian military, which orchestrated the overthrow, will move quickly to call elections.

Pfeiffer, in his email to supporters, suggested the controversies in Washington over scandals and other issues are a distraction.

“The president thinks Washington has largely taken its eye off the ball on the most important issue facing the country,” Pfeiffer said Sunday evening in a message sent to the White House’s public email list. “Instead of talking about how to help the middle class, too many in Congress are trying to score political points, re-fight old battles and trump up phony scandals.”

White House Press Secretary Jay Carney said Monday that Obama will be talking about where the economy needs to go from here.

“We have come a long way from the depths of the Great Recession,” he said.

In his economic pitch, Obama will talk Wednesday about efforts to expand manufacturing, sign up the uninsured for health care coverage, revitalize the housing industry and broaden educational opportunities for preschoolers and college students. He will also promote the economic benefits of the immigration overhaul.

Obama is pushing to end the federal budget cuts that kicked in this year so they don’t extend into the next fiscal year. That could create a showdown with congressional Republicans in September, as the end of the current fiscal year approaches. Some Republicans also want more deficit reduction as a price for raising the debt ceiling, a bargain Obama says he will not make.

Republicans are fundamentally opposed to Obama’s mix of budget cuts and tax increases. It wasn’t until after last year’s election that Republicans agreed to increase taxes for the wealthiest Americans in a deal that kept taxes for most Americans at rates set during the administration of President George W. Bush.

Appearing on CBS’ “Face the Nation” Sunday, Boehner said the way to get the economy moving again is by stopping unnecessary regulations and bringing the federal deficit under control.

Describing “this new normal of slow economic growth, no increase in jobs that are available, wages are being basically frozen,” Boehner said: “We’re squeezing the middle class. And I would argue the president’s policies are getting in the way of the economy growing, whether it’s Obamacare, whether it’s all these needless regulations that are coming out of the government.”

Pfeiffer said Obama will unveil some new ideas, outline steps Congress can take and identify measures he can initiate on his own.

“He’ll talk about the progress we’ve made together, the challenges that remain and the path forward,” Pfeiffer said.

How did we get here and what can be done about it?

559690_566967289988954_1488743939_n

This didn’t happen over night America.  It began a few generations ago to an unsuspecting America lead by a Progressive Liberal President, Woodrow Wilson.  Ever so subtle did they (Communists) slip into the American physic all the while undermining the very fabric of American Culture and Society.  Then came the Great American Depression which caused even more Americans to accept the Socialism presented to them by a President Franklyn Roosevelt.  Today we face an even greater economic calamity causing over 51% of the American people to re-elect one Barack Obama and his entire Socialist/Marxist Agenda.

That’s it in a nut shell but the difference this time around is we have History on our side and have learned from those mistakes of the past.  We will not repeat them and even now there are people rising up in our Congress who are Constitutional Patriots determined to restore these United States to their former glory. It is up to all of us not to let them down.  Stand Strong Patriots and Speak out for this may well be the Twilight’s Last Gleaming.
