A lesson for America from Vladimir Putin!

305953_567036389996287_158535796_n

It is a sad day when a Communist President makes more sense than
our President Barack Hussein Obama…….. but here it is!!!!

This is one time our elected leaders should pay
attention to the advice of Vladimir Putin…. How scary
is that…

Subject: VLADIMIR PUTIN’S SHORTEST SPEECH.

On August 04, 2013, Vladimir Putin, the Russian president,
addressed the Duma, (Russian Parliament), and gave a
speech about the tensions with minorities in Russia :

“In Russia live like Russians. Any minority, from
anywhere, if it wants to live in Russia , to work and
eat in Russia , should speak Russian, and should respect the
Russian laws.

If they prefer Sharia Law, and live the
life of Muslim’s then we advise them to go to those
places where that’s the state law. Russia does not need
Muslim minorities.

Minorities need Russia , and we will not
grant them special privileges, or try to change our laws to
fit their desires, no matter how loud they yell
‘discrimination’.

We will not tolerate disrespect of
our Russian culture. We had better learn from the
suicides of America , England , Holland and France , if we are
to survive as a nation.

The Muslims are taking over those
countries and they will not take over Russia .. The
Russian customs and traditions are not compatible with the lack
of culture or the primitive ways of Sharia Law and Muslims.

When this honorable legislative body thinks of creating
new laws, it should have in mind the Russian national
interest first, observing that the Muslims Minorities Are Not
Russians.

The politicians in the Duma gave Putin a five minute
standing ovation.

I admire the men and the women that are willing to serve in the

U.S Armed Forces

They are Patriots, heroes, and people that should be looked up to as to their integrity and their courage to enlist in the first place.

Sadly, many among us have no desire to defend this fine Country, nor are willing to learn how to do so.

They would rather sit back and reap the benefits of the ones that were brave enough to enlist.

So,…. are they Heroes ?

Ask them,…. they will say no, just doing my job.

Many times that job resulted in the loss of limbs due to the cowards that would not expose themselves, rather they hid behind women and children, melting into the community, and our troops could not define them as the enemy.

Women and children being used as walking bombs.

The same thing was going on in Vietnam.

Our soldiers were hard pressed to know who the enemy looked like.

These are the tactics of cowards.

These are the tactics of people that are afraid of openly confronting a great military.

These are the tactics used by people that cannot play a fair game, hence they cheat.

This is very similar to what we have developing in the US government, or, for that matter, is in place now.

The philosophy is the same.

Hide the enemy.

I did not want to take the Patriotic spirit away from this post.

We are America

The finest military is on display everyday, all over the world.

Let us never forget the doctors and the nurses that tended to the wounded.

Let us never forget the paramedics that transport them from the field to the hospitals.

Let us never forget the valiant warriors that this Country has produced.

We should be very proud

No matter what happens in the future, we are Americans and we are the voice of Freedom throughout the world.

No one can ever take that away from US.

I would also add that the parents of these brave individuals are to be commended for their courage to feel confident enough in their children to allow them to go off on an adventure that will change them forever,

Mr. AFVet, I’d be your Wing Man any day!

Fact Check: Could a Little-Known International Agreement With Ukraine Force U.S., Britain Into War With Russia?

The United States and Britain “reaffirmed” its commitment to protect Ukraine’s borders in exchange for the nation giving up its nuclear weapons in a little-known treaty known as the “Budapest Memorandum signed by former President Bill Clinton in 1994.

The Daily Mail notes reports “if Russia has invaded Ukraine then it would be difficult for the US and Britain to avoid going to war.”

Sir Tony Brenton, who served as a British ambassador from 2004 to 2008, said war is certainly on the table if it’s determined that the Budapest Memorandum is “legally binding.”

According to the Daily Mail, Kiev has asked that the agreement be honored as it claims its borders have been violated.

Ukraine official: Russia has launched ‘armed invasion’ in Crimea

Russian troops moved into Crimea Friday, U.S. officials told Fox News, prompting Ukraine to accuse Russia of an “armed invasion.”

At the White House, President Obama said the U.S. government is “deeply concerned” by reports of Russian “military movements” and warned any violation of Ukraine’s sovereignty would be “deeply destabilizing.”

“There will be costs” for any military intervention, he said, without specifying what those costs might be.

Syndicated columnist and political commentator Charles Krauthammer on Friday said President Barack Obama’s statement on the alleged Russian invasion of Crimea, Ukraine, was so weak it was “staggering.” In fact, he argued the president “could not have issued a more flaccid statement.”

Krauthammer told Bret Baier that the “Ukrainians — and I think everybody — are shocked by the weakness of Obama’s statements.”

“I find it rather staggering,” he added. “What he’s saying is we’re not going to really do anything, and we’re telling the world.”

Hagel calls for shrinking Army to pre-WWII size

Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel called Monday for shrinking the U.S. Army to its smallest size in decades, along with other cuts, drawing criticism that the drastic changes will hurt U.S. security.

Hagel announced his Pentagon budget priorities Monday afternoon. The Army had already been preparing to shrink to 490,000 active-duty members from a wartime peak of 570,000. Hagel is proposing to cut it further to between 440,000 and 450,000.

That would make it the smallest since just before the U.S. entered World War II.

China and Russia Embark on Military Buildup as America Stands Down

Return of the former Soviet Union

and Vladimir Putin

From the Washington Post:

By , Published: February 20

MOSCOW – Less than two weeks before presidential elections, Vladimir Putin laid out his ambitious plans Monday for modernizing and strengthening Russia’s defense forces over the next decade, in the face of a threatening world and a powerful United States.“For Russia to feel secure and for our partners to listen carefully to what our country has to say,” he wrote, Moscow must spend about $775 billion by 2022 for new armaments and a more professional military.
Two weeks before Russia holds its presidential election, hundreds of motorists circled central Moscow to demand that Prime Minister Vladimir Putin allow free elections. Saturday night, pro-Putin motorists hit the streets. (Feb. 19)

“We see zones of instability and artificially maintained, managed chaos emerging,” the current Russian prime minister wrote in a lengthy article that was one of a series of presidential campaign platforms. “Furthermore, we see how some are purposefully provoking such conflicts in the immediate vicinity of Russia’s borders.”

He said Russia’s military response to the U.S. missile defense shield would be “effective and asymmetrical.”

The promise to increase defense spending and modernize Russia’s forces is not new. On Monday, Putin said Russia will put more than 400 intercontinental ballistic missiles into service over the next 10 years, as well as eight nuclear submarines, 600 advanced aircraft, 2,300 tanks and an array of other equipment. Analysts, on the left and right, were skeptical that he can accomplish such a buildup.

China Boosts Military Spending

China has announced that it will boost military spending by 11.2 per cent this year, in a move likely to cause concern about Beijing’srapid military build-up and stoke regional tensions. The increase was announced on Sunday by Li Zhaoxing, the spokesman for China’s parliament, and will bring official spending on the People’s Liberation Armyto 670.3bn yuan ($110bn) for 2012, after a 12.7 per cent increase last year and a nearly consistent series of double-digit rises across two decades.
“China’s limited military power is for the sake of preserving national sovereignty, security, and territorial integrity- Li Zhaoxing,
Chinese parliamentary spokesman

China’s public budget is widely thought by foreign experts to undercount its real spending on military modernisation, which has unnerved Asian neighbours and drawn repeated calls from the US for China to share more about its intentions.

Li said the world has nothing to fear, and the money spent on the PLA paled in comparison with the Pentagon’s outlays.

“You can see that we have 1.3 billion people with a large land areas and a long coastline, but our outlays on defence are quite low compared to other major countries,” Li said before the annual session of the National People’s Congress, the Communist Party-controlled legislature that will approve the budget.

“China’s limited military power is for the sake of preserving national sovereignty, security, and territorial integrity,” said Li, a former foreign minister. “Fundamentally, it constitutes no threat to other countries.”

Budget ‘tops $100bn’

Asian neighbours have been nervous about Beijing’s expanding military, and this latest double-digit rise could reinforce worries in Japan, India and Southeast Asian nations.

“China’s military capabilities plus its creeping assertiveness, its new kind of aggressiveness in the region, I think those are causes for concern,” Richard Bitzinger, a military expert and senior fellow at Nanyang Technological University in Singapore, told Al Jazeera.

“I think what’s most significant, for me at least, is the fact that they finally topped $100bn in defence spending.”

China’s growing military capability has been a growing concern among Asian countries in recent years

Bitzinger said the ”ultimate cumulative effect is that it has basically propelled the Chinese into the second largest defence spender in the world, behind the United States”.

Obama has sought to reassure Asian allies that the US will stay a key player in the area, and the Pentagon has said it will “rebalance toward the Asia-Pacific region”.

“China shares its land border with 14 countries; it used to make sense that a country in such a position maintains strong conventional forces,” said Kazuya Sakamoto, a professor at Osaka University in Japan who researches international security.

“But in this nuclear age, it does not really make sense China, a nuclear-armed country, continues to build up its military at such a pace.”

Obama’s proposed budget for the fiscal year of 2013 calls for a Pentagon base budget of $525.4bn, about $5.1bn less than approved for 2012.

China’s defence spending was 1.28 per cent of its gross domestic product in 2011, while the US and Britain both devoted more then two per cent of their economies to their military forces, Li, the Chinese parliament spokesman, said.

Japan and China have disputed over islands each claims in the East China Sea; Vietnam, the Philippines and other nations have challenged Beijing over claims to swathes of the South China Sea that could be rich in oil and gas.

4bc29294fc7acb1fffe4fdc06ed1a5e5This Country was founded by men and women who possessed an Iron Will.

They took on the Mightiest Military force in the world at that time.

What they accomplished was indeed extraordinary.

To wrest this fledgeling upstart colony from the mandates of a King because of the desire to be free and to get out from under the onerous taxes that were prohibiting a burgeoning society from blossoming into the Country that we know and love.
The revolution started with a bunch of people that destroyed a boatload of Tea in the Boston harbor, dressed as Indians.

The tax on the Tea had just been increased, and the people had had enough.

boston-tea-party

Well the King was tired of these colonials and their attitude against the crown, so he sent his army and his navy over here to take care of the situation.

Many battles ensued.

George Washington lost many battles on the way to victory.

The battle that counts is the one that is won at the end of the war.
Washington never gave up.

Tenacious attitude, even when his troops’ feet were frozen and bleeding.
What great men they were !
Without them, where would we be today ?

revolutionary-war-minutemenThe iron will that they had is still prevalent in today’s conservative bloggers, conservative talk show hosts, and the Modern Tea Party movement, all of whom have the desire to see this Country turned back from the direction She is headed under the present administration and the politicians that are insistent on allowing this president to break the law.

Americans have always realized when the oppression of big government has become an instrument of tyranny, and that is where we are now.

With the recent comments by the current president that he will act on his own and bypass congress, and the congress cheers his statement, should tell you that we are far to along the road of an imperial government.

It will take an iron will to resist the onslaught that the liberals will obviously launch upon anybody that tries to disrupt their agenda.

Many warriors exist;
Michelle Malkin
Sarah Palin
Allen West,… just to name a few.

Duck_Dynasty_Phil_Robertson

And keep in mind that these people are constantly excoriated because they disagree with the people that are insistent on taking America to a third world status.

We must have an iron will to save our Country from the ones that intend to destroy Her.

The battle is beginning yet again, are you ready ?

God Bless America.

Patriots abound in this Great Country.

Men and Women that have served Her in the Armed Forces and those that are passionate in keeping Her and the principles of our Constitution as a guide and a beacon for Freedom.

Ronald Reagan said She was the “Shining City on the Hill.”

Yes She is and will continue to be as long as the Patriots mount an opposition to the nefarious undertakings the present administration deems necessary to force Her into a socialistic society.

Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, Coast Guard.

Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, Marines, Coast Guardsmen.

Veterans of foreign wars.

Wars that will never be forgotten.

Recent wars that still plague US with the devastation that our mighty warriors have had to sustain, and live with for the rest of their lives along with their families and loved ones.

The men and the women that volunteered to serve this Country are the true Heroes of today, and they are going to be the ones that take Her back from the cliff that She is perched upon.

The men and the women that were true Patriots did not shy away from their duty.

The men and the women that are true Patriots have a challenge ahead of them.

Did Diane Sawyer use Misleading Stats in ’20/20’ Report on Children and Guns?

1101890807_400Hat tip to The Blaze for this report

TheBlaze Fact-Checks ABC: Did Diane Sawyer Use Misleading Stats in ’20/20’

Report on Children and Guns?

ABC’s “20/20” waded into the never-ending gun debate on Friday with a new special titled, “Young Guns.” While some pro-gun advocates, including The Blaze TV’s Dana Loesch, are already panning the report, The Blaze also took a closer look at the statistics cited by ABC and found a few noteworthy details.

In the report, ABC producers strategically place unloaded firearms in play areas and allow children to find them so their behavior can be observed. The objective of the experiment is seemingly to determine if parents’ children are safe at the homes of neighbors who own firearms.

While previewing her new special on Friday, Sawyer and ABC’s George Stephanopoulos claimed that “every hour a child is hospitalized because of gunshots” and “every other day a child [is] killed” by a gun.

A review of ABC’s statistics reveal that its numbers on “child” gun deaths include all “kids under age 18.” Citing the CDC, ABC reports that 1,337 people under age 18 died from gunshot wounds in 2010, which is actually trending down from 1,544 in 2000. When looking at ages 1-14, which the CDC actually classifies as children, there were 369 gun deaths in 2010 (including suicides, homicides and unintentional deaths).

Further, the network uses “kids and teens under age 20″ to calculate the number of “children” hospitalized from firearms injuries. ABC’s data source is the Yale School of Medicine rather than the CDC — and the numbers only include 2009. Some might also argue that people as old as 18 and 19-years-old aren’t children or kids. The report says 7,391 people under the age of 20 were hospitalized from gun-related injuries.

It is likely that a detailed breakdown of the Yale data would show the majority of gun injuries involved individuals older than the young children featured in the “20/20″ report. The vague presentation of the data on both deaths and injuries leaves a number of questions unanswered: Do the numbers include suspects shot by police officers? What about 18-year-olds who are shot while serving in the military? How many of the injuries and/or deaths are crime-related? Do they include suicides?

Citing CDC statistics, ABC reports that 98 “kids under age 18” died from accidental shootings in 2010, which is actually “trending down from 150 deaths in 2000 and 417 in 1990.” That means there has been a radical drop in accidental shootings from 1990 to 2010.

It’s not exactly clear why ABC used “kids and teens under the age of 20″ for gun-related injuries and then “kids under the age of 18″ for gun deaths and accidental shootings. Not using the same type of data sets can make it hard to truly interpret the statistics. The CDC classifies ages 1-14 as children and ages 15-19 as youths.

Accidental deaths are only a small portion of the total number of gun deaths among children. Averages based on multiple years provide a more accurate picture of an issue than those focused on a very short period of time. Many times, advocacy groups on both sides of issues attempt to use extreme examples to get the statistics to look the way they want.

Overall, the total number of gun deaths among ages 1-14 made up a little more than 1 percent of all gun deaths in the U.S. in 2010, according to CDC data. The CDC reported 62 unintentional firearms deaths in the same year.

For a full breakdown of CDC gun death statistics from 1999-2010 click here.

Additionally, ABC’s “Young Guns” report seems to focus heavily on the possibility of accidental shootings resulting from children’s natural curiosity. In this sense, Sawyer may be overstating her case that the homes of gun owners may be increasingly unsafe for children.

Again, despite gun ownership being on the rise, the number of “kids under the age of 18” killed in accidental shootings has dramatically decreased from 417 in 1990 to 98 in 2010, ABC reports, citing the CDC. In 2010, there were 62 unintentional gun deaths among children ages 1-14, down from 88 in 1999.

And that’s just looking at the statistics. Loesch found the premise of ABC producers strategically placing firearms in kids’ play areas highly questionable.

“The first problem I see is that ABC producers irresponsibly conclude that we have an epidemic of accidental shootings involving children because these producers placed guns around play areas and children looked at them,” Loesch said sarcastically. “The second problem I see is a hysterical report based upon the presupposition that accidental death as a result of improperly used firearm is an epidemic. It’s not.”

To back up her argument, Loesch cited her own CDC statistics.

There are roughly 90 million gun owners in the United States and about 40 million children under the age of 10, according to the CDC’s National Center for Injury and Prevention Control. The same statistics indicate that in 2003, 28 children under the age of 10 died of accidental shootings.

“In fact, calculating the statistics from the CDC, less than 2 percent of all firearm deaths in the United States are the result of accidental shootings,” Loesch explained. “The overwhelming majority is from gang and drug violence.”

Loesch went on to note that children account for less than 1 percent of all accidental shootings, according to the CDC.

In fact, pools, cars and poison are “exponentially more dangerous” and result in the deaths of thousands of children each year, the data shows. In 2010 alone, 602 children died from drowning, 262 died in fires and 923 died in car accidents.

“These are real epidemics,” Loesch concluded. “When is [Diane Sawyer] going to host a special on that?”

Editor’s note: One statistic for child gun deaths per year pulled from a 2013 news report appears to be likely inaccurate. This story has been updated with direct CDC statistics and additional information. We regret the error.

‘None of That Happened’: ABC Host Confronts Jay Carney Over Obama’s Empty Promises From Last Year’s State of the Union Address

White House press secretary Jay Carney was pressed on Sunday by ABC NewsJonathan Karl over promises the president made last year during his State of the Union address that never came to fruition.

“If you look at last year’s State of the Union address, the president made some specific promises. Raise the minimum wage, immigration reform, background checks for gun purchases — none of that happened,” Karl said. “Isn’t this year only going to be harder?”

“Those were calls for action that involved Congress,” Carney countered, adding President Barack Obama was “very disappointed” the Senate failed to pass legislation further regulating gun purchases and saying he is optimistic Congress will pass immigration reform this year.

Karl then asked Carney if he thinks passing the Affordable Care Act will still have been worth it if the Democrats lose control of the Senate.

“You already lost the House because of Obamacare,” Karl said. “Will it have been worth it if you lose the Senate?”

“This is not about politics,” Carney answered. “So the answer is, it is absolutely worth it, no matter what happens.”

Those Treasured Moments we so often miss

Bell Joshua_ Perf shot 1 2010_PC Eric Kabik

“A man sat at a metro station in Washington DC and started to play the violin; it was a cold January morning. He played six Bach pieces for about 45 minutes. During that time, since it was rush hour, it was calculated that 1,100 people went through the station, most of them on their way to work. Three minutes went by, and a middle aged man noticed there was musician playing. He slowed his pace, and stopped for a few seconds, and then hurried up to meet his schedule. A minute later, the violinist received his first dollar tip: a woman threw the money in the till and without stopping, and continued to walk. A few minutes later, someone leaned against the wall to listen to him, but the man looked at his watch and started to walk again. Clearly he was late for work. The one who paid the most attention was a 3 year old boy. His mother tagged him along, hurried, but the kid stopped to look at the violinist. Finally, the mother pushed hard, and the child continued to walk, turning his head all the time. This action was repeated by several other children. All the parents, without exception, forced them to move on. In the 45 minutes the musician played, only 6 people stopped and stayed for a while. About 20 gave him money, but continued to walk their normal pace. He collected $32. When he finished playing and silence took over, no one noticed it. No one applauded, nor was there any recognition. No one knew this, but the violinist was Joshua Bell, one of the most talented musicians in the world. He had just played one of the most intricate pieces ever written, on a violin worth $3.5 million dollars. Two days before his playing in the subway, Joshua Bell sold out at a theater in Boston where the seats averaged $100. This is a real story. Joshua Bell playing incognito in the metro station was organized by the Washington Post as part of a social experiment about perception, taste, and priorities of people. The outlines were: in a commonplace environment at an inappropriate hour: Do we perceive beauty? Do we stop to appreciate it? Do we recognize the talent in an unexpected context? One of the possible conclusions from this experience could be: If we do not have a moment to stop and listen to one of the best musicians in the world playing the best music ever written, how many other things are we missing?”
