How much Taxpayer Money is Spent on Foreign Aid and Where does it Go?

U.S. Foreign Aid By Country

U.S. Foreign Aid By Country

The United States is notorious for having its fingers in many pies. One of the ways Uncle Sam tries to coerce other states to get in line with his preferred policies is by doling out foreign aid — lots of it.

The U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) states that its function is to provide “economic, development and humanitarian assistance around the world in support of the foreign policy goals of the United States.” While the effectiveness of foreign aid remains up for debate, the United States recently has continued to pump around $50 billion in aid to other countries each year.

In terms of the absolute value of aid given, the United States is the world’s top donor by far. So where is all that money going?

See where U.S. dollars flow below.

Here are the top ten recipients of U.S. foreign aid for 2012 (Data from July 2012 Congressional Research Service report):

10) Tanzania ($531 million)

9) Ethiopia ($580 million)

8) Nigeria ($625 million)

7) Kenya ($625 million)

6) Jordan ($676 Million)

5) Egypt ($1,557 million)

4) Iraq ($1,683 million) With many reconstruction efforts completed, assistance to Iraq has declined recently. Billions of U.S. dollars have been wasted since 2003, with much of the money going into corrupt contracts.

3) Pakistan: ($2,102 million) Pakistan comes in ahead of Iraq. U.S.-Pakistan relations may be rocky, but the country is considered one of three “frontline states” on the war on terror. Security assistance and aid “designed to limit the appeal of extremist organizations”

2) Afghanistan: ($2,327 million). After over a decade at war and ahead of the United States’ planned withdrawal in 2014, Afghanistan remains a top recipient of U.S. foreign affairs spending.

AND…

The number ONE recipient of U.S. Foreign Aid IS…(Not surprisingly)…

1) Israel: ($3,075 million) Israel’s special relationship with the United States pays off when it comes to foreign aid. The Jewish state has long been a top recipient of foreign aid, receiving nearly $3.1 billion in 2012.

President Obama’s Egyption Muslim Brotherhood Support Erupts into Riots

30 dead after Egyptians angry about riot verdicts try to storm prison

By Reza Sayah and Amir Ahmed, CNN

Cairo (CNN) — A stern Egyptian court ruling tied to a soccer riot spurred clashes that left at least 30 people dead on Saturday, the latest round of violence in the unsettled North African nation.

In addition to those killed, more than 300 were wounded when people in the northeastern city of Port Said clashed with authorities outside a prison where their kin were being held, the head of Port Said hospitals told state-run Nile TV.

They were angry because 21 of their relatives had just been sentenced to death for their role in a February 1 riot in a Port Said stadium.

That 2012 incident — during a game between Cairo’s prestigious Al-Ahly football club and the host Al-Masry team — ended with 73 dead.

Two months later, Egypt’s general prosecutor charged 75 people with “premeditated murder and attempted murder,” while three Al-Masry officials and nine police officers were charged with “assisting the murderers.”

According to the prosecutor’s office, those in the latter group knew about the assault ahead of time, didn’t confiscate weapons in advance, didn’t stop them and — in the case of an electricity engineer who was charged — turned off the lights directly over the bleachers where the Al-Ahly fans were sitting right after the visiting team wrapped up its 3-1 victory.

Fans from both sides bashed each other with rocks and chairs, yet prosecutors claimed the Port Said supporters were also armed with knives and other weapons.

Many died after falling from bleachers inside the stadium, while others suffocated.

It was unclear whether intense sports rivalries or political strife sparked the riot, though witnesses said tensions had grown throughout the game with Al-Masry fans throwing bottles and rocks at the opposing players.

That violence begat more on Saturday, after some of the defendants’ relatives tried to storm the Port Said prison to free their loved ones being held inside, Interior Ministry spokesman Brig. Gen. Osama Ismail told Nile TV.

The reaction was far different in Cairo, where Saturday’s verdict was issued due to security concerns.

One man cried for joy, feeling that “justice has been survived” following the death of his oldest son, the married father of two children.

“I finally felt that I am in a civilized country,” added a woman in Cairo’s capital. “My son (did) nothing wrong. But my son’s legacy will live on, because of the true justice served here.”

Egypt embroiled in deadly political unrest

Saturday’s Port Said violence comes on the heels of other bloodshed around the nation, which was tied more explicitly to unrest about Egypt’s current leadership but nonetheless symptomatic of instability and insecurity two years after longtime President Hosni Mubarak was ousted.

More recently, protesters have focused their anger at current President Mohamed Morsy.

The former Muslim Brotherhood leader, who became Egypt’s first democratically elected leader last year, has come under fire by some who compared him to Mubarak and said he amassed power for himself and his Islamist allies. He has insisted his moves were necessary to move Egypt forward in the face of pressing issues and persistent obstacles.

On Friday — the anniversary of what some call the January 25 Revolution — six people were killed in Suez and one in Ismailia, amid clashes involving anti-government protesters and those supportive of Morsy, as well as police. Hundreds more were injured in the unrest nationwide.

Opinion: U.S. gets it wrong on Egypt again

Referring to this violence and what happened Saturday in Port Said, Information Minister Salah Abdul Maqsoud read a statement on state TV saying the government was considering implementing a state of emergency in some areas.

“The (National Defense Council) denounces the acts of violence and demands all national and political forces be committed to the peaceful ways to express their opinion,” Maqsoud said after a meeting led by Morsy. “(The council) calls for wider national dialogue, led by (prominent) figures, to discuss the issues of political disagreement and reach national accordance.”

On Saturday in Suez — about 90 miles south of Port Said — the government deployed troops and armored military vehicles in response to the previous day’s clashes.

Brig. Gen. Adel Refat, the head of security in Suez, asked for the help after declaring the area “out of control,” according to state news. Protesters accused Egyptian forces of opening fire during the demonstrations, a claim Refat strongly denied.

Meanwhile, in Cairo, clashes extended to areas around the Shura Council, the upper house of parliament. Protesters overnight waged a standoff outside the Nile TV offices, with some tossing Molotov cocktails and police responding with tear gas.

Journalist Ramy Francis and CNN’s Reza Sayah reported from Cairo; CNN’s Amir Ahmed reported Atlanta. CNN’s Chelsea J. Carter, Greg Botelho, Yousuf Basil and Hamdi Alkhshali contributed to this report.

President Obama on the History of Islam in America

MUSLIM HERITAGE IN AMERICA

Have you ever been to a Muslim hospital, heard a Muslim orchestra, seen a Muslim band march in a parade, witnessed a Muslim charity,
shaken hands with a Muslim Girl Scout, seen a Muslim Candy Striper, or seen a Muslim do anything that contributes positively to the American way of life ????

The answer is no, you did not.

Just ask yourself WHY ???

Barack Obama, during his Cairo speech, said:

“I know, too, that Islam has always been a part of America’s history.”

Remember that President Obama referred to the Arab Spring in Egypt as a “Good Thing”

Representative Allen West calls out President Obama on Muslim Brotherhood Egyptian Backfire

‘Repudiate the Muslim Brotherhood’: Allen West Calls for Obama to Immediately Cut All American Foreign Aid to Egypt Following Election Results

Congressman Allen West (R-Fla.) on Sunday called for President Barack Obama to immediately cut off all American foreign aid to Egypt and to denounce the results of its presidential election after Muslim Brotherhood-backed candidate Mohammed Morsi’s victory.

In a brief post on his Facebook page, West said Sunday’s results were reminiscent of the 1979 Iranian revolution that saw Islamists installed as leaders of the country.

“A year ago there were those of us who warned the Obama administration of a Muslim Brotherhood takeover in Egypt,” West wrote. “We were castigated as alarmists and loose cannons. Today our predictions have come to reality and the ominous specter reminding us of the Iranian revolution is evident.”

Calling the Arab Spring “nothing more than a radical Islamic nightmare,” West said the U.S. needs to “unequivocally reiterate” its support to Coptic Christians in the region and to Israel.

“What an incredible foreign policy faux pas by the second coming of President Jimmy Carter, the Obama administration,” West said. “I call upon President Barack Obama to cut off American foreign aid to Egypt, denounce the results of this election, repudiate the Muslim Brotherhood, and all radical Islamist political entities.

AN AMERICAN CITIZEN’S RESPONSE:

Dear Mr. Obama:

Were those Muslims that were in America when the Pilgrims first landed?

Funny, I thought they were Native American Indians.

Were those Muslims that celebrated the first Thanksgiving day?

Sorry again, those were Pilgrims and Native American Indians.

Can you show me one Muslim signature on the

United States Constitution?

Declaration of Independence?

Bill of Rights?

Didn’t think so.

Did Muslims fight for this country’s freedom from England?

No.

Did Muslims fight during the Civil War to free the slaves in America?

No, they did not.

In fact, Muslims to this day are still the largest traffickers in human slavery.

Your own half-brother, a devout Muslim, still advocates slavery himself, even
though Muslims of Arabic descent refer to black Muslims as “pug nosed slaves.”

Says a lot of what the Muslim world really thinks of your
family’s “rich Islamic heritage,” doesn’t it Mr. Obama?

Where were Muslims during the Civil Rights era of this country?

Not present.

There are no pictures or media accounts of Muslims walking side by side with Martin Luther King, Jr.
or helping to advance the cause of Civil Rights.

Where were Muslims during this country’s Woman’s Suffrage era?

Again, not present.

In fact, devout Muslims demand that women are subservient to men in the Islamic culture. So much so, that often they are beaten for not wearing the ‘hajib’ or for talking to a man who is not a direct family member or their husband.

Yep, the Muslims are all for women’s rights, aren’t they?

Where were Muslims during World War II?

They were aligned with Adolf Hitler.

The Muslim grand mufti himself met with Adolf Hitler, reviewed the troops and accepted support from the Nazi’s in killing Jews.

Finally, Mr. Obama, where were Muslims on Sept. 11th, 2001?

If they weren’t flying planes into the World Trade Center, the Pentagon or a field
in Pennsylvania killing nearly 3,000 people on our own soil, they were rejoicing in the Middle East. No one can dispute the pictures shown from all parts of the Muslim world
celebrating on CNN, Fox News, MSNBC and other cable news networks that day.

Strangely, the very “moderate” Muslims who’s asses you bent over backwards to kiss in Cairo, Egypt on June 4th were stone cold silent post 9-11.

To many Americans, their silence has meant approval for the acts of that day.

(Representative Allen West Explains the Mission of Islam)

A must see Video

And THAT, Mr. Obama, is the “rich heritage” Muslims have here in America.

Oh, I’m sorry, I forgot to mention the Barbary Pirates.

They were Muslim.

And now we can add November 5, 2009 – the slaughter of American soldiers at Fort Hood by a Muslim major who is a doctor and a psychiatrist who was supposed to be counseling soldiers returning from battle in Iraq and Afghanistan.

That, Mr. Obama is the Muslim heritage in America

Muslim Heritage, NOT!

Mr. President, exactly what Planet are you living on?

OBAMA STRIKES AGAIN: Resurgence of Al Qaeda After The American Military Leaves IRAQ

Wave of Bombings Across Iraqi Capital Kills At Least 57

BAGHDAD –  A wave of violence ripped across Baghdad on Thursday morning, killing at least 57 people and injuring nearly 200 in a coordinated attack designed to wreak havoc in the Iraqi capital just days after American forces left the country.

The blasts were the worst violence since a political crisis between Iraq‘s Sunni and Shiite factions erupted this weekend. The political spat, which pits Iraq’s Shiite prime minister against the highest-ranking Sunni political leader, has raised fears that Iraq’s sectarian wounds will be reopened during a fragile time when Iraq is finally navigating its own political future without U.S. military support.

Iraqi officials said at least 12 blasts went off early Thursday morning in nine neighborhoods around the city. The explosions ranged from blasts from sticky bombs attached to cars to roadside bombs and vehicles packed with explosives.

Most of the attacks appeared to hit Shiite neighborhoods although some Sunni areas were also targeted.

The spokesman for the Iraqi health ministry put the death toll at 49 people and said at least 167 people were also injured. He did not have a breakdown of where the dead and injured were killed.

There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the morning’s violence. But the coordinated nature of the assault and the fact that the attacks took place in numerous neighborhoods suggested a planning capability only available to Al Qaeda in Iraq.

Hope and Change Index: Obama to send Billions to Middle East

President Will Announce Billions In Economic Aid to Egypt, Tunisia

President Barack Obama will announce plans Thursday to funnel billions of dollars in economic aid to Egypt and Tunisia as part of a broader effort to inject democracy into the Middle East and North Africa.

Obama will unveil a massive package of economic measures, including up to $1 billion in debt relief and another $1 billion in loan guarantees, during a speech on U.S.-Middle East policy set for Thursday morning at the State Department. Other pieces of the package include a new trade partnership with the region and a fund for stimulating regional private sector investments.

In a Wednesday preview of the speech, senior administration officials said the U.S. singled out Tunisia and Egypt for economic help because they are the best positioned countries to serve as role models for democratic reform in the area, which has been gripped by anti-government protests in recent months.

The big question today is should we raise the dept ceiling so we can borrow more money to send to the Middle East?

P r e s e n t s

Thank you President Bush for keeping American Sane and Safe for Eight Years

George W. Bush is the 43rd President of the United States. He was sworn into office on January 20, 2001, re-elected on November 2, 2004, and sworn in for a second term on January 20, 2005. Before his Presidency, he served for 6 years as Governor of the State of Texas.

President Bush was born July 6, 1946, in New Haven, Connecticut, to Barbara and George H.W. Bush – later the 41st President of the United States. In 1948, the family moved to, where President Bush grew up in Midland. He received a bachelor’s degree in history from Yale University in 1968 and then served as a pilot in the Texas Air National Guard. President Bush received a Master of Business Administration from;Harvard Business School in 1975. Following graduation, he moved back to Midland and began a career in the energy business. After working on his father’s successful 1988 Presidential campaign, President Bush assembled a group of partners that purchased the Texas Rangers baseball franchise in 1989.

On November 8, 1994, George W. Bush was elected the 46th Governor of Texas. He became the first Governor in Texas history to be elected to consecutive 4-year terms when he was re-elected on November 3, 1998. In Austin, he earned a reputation for his bipartisan governing approach and his compassionate conservative philosophy, which was based on limited government, personal responsibility, strong families, and local control.

Since his election to the Presidency in 2000, President Bush has worked to extend freedom, opportunity, and security at home and abroad. His first initiative as President was the No Child Left Behind Act, a bipartisan measure that raised standards in schools, insisted on accountability in return for federal dollars, and led to measurable gains in achievement – especially among minority students. Faced with a recession when he took office, President Bush cut taxes for every federal income taxpayer, which helped set off an unprecedented 52 straight months of job creation. And President Bush modernized Medicare by adding a prescription drug benefit, a reform that provided access to needed medicine for 40 million seniors and other beneficiaries.

President Bush also implemented free trade agreements with more than a dozen nations; empowered America’s armies of compassion by creating a new Faith-based and Community Initiative; promoted a culture of life; improved air quality and made America’s energy supply more secure; set aside more ocean resources for environmental protection than any predecessor; transformed the military and nearly doubled government support for veterans; pioneered a new model of partnership in development that tied American foreign aid to reform and good governance; launched a global HIV/AIDS initiative that has spared millions of lives; expanded the NATO alliance; forged a historic new partnership with India; and appointed Chief Justice John Roberts and Justice Samuel Alito to the U.S. Supreme Court.

The most significant event of President Bush’s tenure came on September 11, 2001, when terrorists killed nearly 3,000 people on American soil. President Bush responded with a comprehensive strategy to protect the American people. He led the most dramatic reorganization of the federal government since the beginning of the Cold War, reforming the intelligence community and establishing new institutions like the Department of Homeland Security. He built global coalitions to remove violent regimes in Afghanistan and Iraq that threatened America; liberating more than 50 million people from tyranny. He recognized that freedom and hope are the best alternative to the extremist ideology of the terrorists, so he provided unprecedented American support for young democracies and dissidents in the Middle East and beyond. In the more than seven years after September 11, 2001, the United States was not attacked again.

President Bush is married to Laura Welch Bush, a former teacher and librarian whom he met at a friend’s backyard barbeque. The President and Mrs. Bush have twin daughters, Barbara and Jenna, and a son-in-law, Henry Hager. The Bush family also includes two dogs, Barney and Miss Beazley.

Where will it all end?

Evil is being unleashed upon the World and now there can be no doubt of that. This is going World Wide rapidly and even here in the U.S. we are seeing a groundswell of Hate, Anger and Violence. Seems that even the Earth is in a state of Rebellion. No one wants to believe the end times could be upon us and yet one has to wonder.

Welcome God back in America

The problems we all face today are far greater than anything we as a people can handle on our own. It is time to face the reality that we need God back in our society and our lives. What we are seeing today in America and around the World is a direct result of America turning her back on God and trying to expel Him from all areas of our Society and our lives….. Think about it.

Will Obama have his own Egyptian Moment?

Obama: The Egyptian People Have ‘Inspired’ America

Quoting Martin Luther King, Jr., Obama remarked that “there something in the soul that cries out for freedom,” and praised Egyptians for inspiring Americans, having “bent the arc of history” and putting “lie to the idea that justice must be gained through violence.“ In reflecting on images of parents carrying their children on their shoulders to show them what ”freedom” looks like, the American president echoed protesters’ chants in Arabic, translated as “we are peaceful.”

Speaking from the Grand Foyer of the White House, Obama‘s remarks did little to reassure America’s allies in the region and avoided speculating what the future of the Egyptian government might look like.

America Inspired

Likewise,  Mr. President you have also Inspired many Americans in the same way.  You haven’t paid much attention to our Rally’s at the National Mall,  nor the Town Hall Meetings all across this Great Land.  In fact,  it seems the Elections of this past November are nothing more than a distant memory for you.  Already you are back at that old game of back door appointments and deals being done while we sleep. Were watching you know.  We aren’t fooled by your smoke&Mirror tricks of pretending to move to the center. We know your a leftist Smuck and nothing is going to change that except Impeachment.  We really can’t afford to wait for 2012, your killing our Country.

We know you now,  Mr. President

We know you’re a Socialist, Progressive, Marxist, Communist  and were not going to let it slide.

Let me read your Fortune Cookie for you:

See, we really do know and none of your tricks are working

We the People will never settle for Socialism in our Country

I am an “American” free to speak without fear, free to worship in my own way, free to stand for what I think right, free to oppose what I believe wrong, or free to choose those who shall govern my country. This heritage of freedom I pledge to uphold

Trying to compare Barack Obama to Ronald Reagan

Ah how the loony left tries so desperately to give Obama some kind of hero image. Fact is the only place they could find a hero was in the Republican Camp.

In an attempting to compare Barack Obama to Ronald Reagan the Liberals unwittingly drew a stark comparison between Greatness and Failure.  The later of course was the spot light which now shines on President Obama and his failed Presidency.

In reality we all know very well that the real comparison should have been drawn between Barack Obama and Jimmy Carter.  This is a horse race which is in a dead heat for Worst American President in the History of Presidents.   At last report, President Obama is in the lead by a Liberal Margin.

I Rest My Case
