U.S. Officials End Tense Standoff Between Nevada Rancher, Federal Government

Earlier this week, the decades-long battle escalated when protesters confronted federal agents attempting to roundup Cliven Bundy’s approximately 900 “trespass cattle.”

Bundy does not own the land and has refused to pay grazing fees since 1993, contending he doesn’t recognize the federal government’s claim to the property.

“Historically, ranchers would let their cattle graze on public land, and the government didn’t stop them,” Jeremy Hudia, an Ohio attorney familiar with the legal claims being made, explained to TheBlaze in an email. “Back in the 1930s, however, the land was being harmed by all the uncontrolled grazing. So laws were passed to create a permit process to control the amount of grazing.”

“There is no ‘right’ to use public land for one’s personal gain,” he added. “If that were the case, I would start drilling for oil in Yosemite National Park.”

“I have raised cattle on that land, which is public land for the people of Clark County, all my life. Why I raise cattle there and why I can raise cattle there is because I have preemptive rights,” Bundy told TheBlaze Monday. “Who is the trespasser here? Who is the trespasser on this land? Is the United States trespassing on Clark County, Nevada, land? Or is it Cliven Bundy who is trespassing on Clark County, Nevada, land? Who’s the trespasser?”

“I have raised cattle on that land, which is public land for the people of Clark County, all my life.”

In 1998 the federal government said the land was off-limits to cattle, in an effort to morph the property into a habitat for an endangered tortoise. Bundy has refused to leave the area, despite a court order.

This week a tense standoff ensued as federal agents attempted to round up his cattle. Protesters, many driving from far distances, flocked to the area to support Bundy.

In one incident, captured on video, the rancher’s son was struck by a stun gun as his sister was pushed to the ground.

The controversy forced Nevada’s Republican Gov. Brian Sandoval to comment on the matter. He said he was “disturbed” by the First Amendment zones established by officials to prevent protests from spreading all over the land.

“To that end, I have advised the BLM that such conduct is offensive to me and countless others and that the ‘First Amendment Area’ should be dismantled immediately,” Sandoval said. “No cow justifies the atmosphere of intimidation which currently exists nor the limitation of constitutional rights that are sacred to all Nevadans. The BLM needs to reconsider its approach to this matter and act accordingly.”

A lesson for America from Vladimir Putin!

305953_567036389996287_158535796_n

It is a sad day when a Communist President makes more sense than
our President Barack Hussein Obama…….. but here it is!!!!

This is one time our elected leaders should pay
attention to the advice of Vladimir Putin…. How scary
is that…

Subject: VLADIMIR PUTIN’S SHORTEST SPEECH.

On August 04, 2013, Vladimir Putin, the Russian president,
addressed the Duma, (Russian Parliament), and gave a
speech about the tensions with minorities in Russia :

“In Russia live like Russians. Any minority, from
anywhere, if it wants to live in Russia , to work and
eat in Russia , should speak Russian, and should respect the
Russian laws.

If they prefer Sharia Law, and live the
life of Muslim’s then we advise them to go to those
places where that’s the state law. Russia does not need
Muslim minorities.

Minorities need Russia , and we will not
grant them special privileges, or try to change our laws to
fit their desires, no matter how loud they yell
‘discrimination’.

We will not tolerate disrespect of
our Russian culture. We had better learn from the
suicides of America , England , Holland and France , if we are
to survive as a nation.

The Muslims are taking over those
countries and they will not take over Russia .. The
Russian customs and traditions are not compatible with the lack
of culture or the primitive ways of Sharia Law and Muslims.

When this honorable legislative body thinks of creating
new laws, it should have in mind the Russian national
interest first, observing that the Muslims Minorities Are Not
Russians.

The politicians in the Duma gave Putin a five minute
standing ovation.

Remembering the Day the American Dream Died

386474_446492082080422_2043703476_n

November 4th 2008

The United States presidential election of 2008 was the 56th quadrennial presidential election. It was held on Tuesday, November 4, 2008. Democratic Party nominee Senator Barack Obama and running mate Senator Joe Biden defeated Republican Party nominee Senator John McCain and running mate Governor Sarah Palin.

I remember the day that a little known Senator from Illinois came on the world stage promising Hope and Change to a weary American populace. America had just endured a serious financial crisis and the housing bubble had all but wiped out  the American Dream.

The young Senator promised to Fundamentally Transform the United States of America offering hope to all those who had suffered under the so called Evils of Capitalism. Unemployment had hit an all time high and the American People were looking for answers.  Little did they know back then that this…

Fundamental Transformation of America

…would usher in Socialism and a Class Warfare Struggle that would forever Divide the American People.

Little did the American People know that Government would begin to control every aspect of our lives in these United States of America and little did they know that Our Freedoms would be gradually Swept Away.

1380711_604660816263547_448878160_n

Today we find ourselves caught between a rock and a hard place as the Takers continue to vote for those who offer Government Handouts rather than pulling themselves up and striving for that ever elusive…

American Dream

As the November Mid-Term Elections approach one can only hope that there are enough of us workers left to override those government leaches and bring about real change in the form of a Restoration of our once great former Republic.

For all of you who Voted for this

Hope and Change

all I can say to you folks is…

Here are some words of Wisdom

from our Chief Contributor AFVet

In my travels across the internet, I sense the outrage of the People that love this Country.

The outrage for the corruption that this regime has been allowed to perpetrate upon the economy, the military, the private sector businesses and the very will of the people that love this Country and are not finished in defending Her.

Congress in the past was conducive in allowing this regime to be established and some elements of it are still committed to keeping it in place.

In their arrogance and the desire to maintain control, they are missing a key concept of what this Country and Her people are all about.

We never give up

The present sitting congress has been stonewalled on everything from Fast and Furious to Benghazi, to the IRS debacle that could have allowed Obama to be re-elected through fraudulent poll statistics by restricting the influence of the conservative organizations that were on the front lines to try and stop the second term of an arrogant socialist that has no problem dismissing congress and the Constitution.

The people across the fruited plain see what the problem is but are becoming impatient as to the time table.

They are furious at the congress for allowing this abomination to go on for so long.

The 2014 election should prove to be the harbinger of where this Great Country is headed.

There is a Phoenix arising, have no doubt.

And when it does, the progressives will be advised to take notice.

President Obama’s thoughts on Legalizing Marijuana

35b248c52d54a688399b9e885b88d781

President Obama is taking a hit from anti-drug groups for downplaying the effects of marijuana use, as some point out his recent comments appear to clash with statements by his own health and law enforcement agencies.

The president, in a recent interview with The New Yorker, likened pot to cigarettes and alcohol.

“As has been well documented, I smoked pot as a kid, and I view it as a bad habit and a vice, not very different from the cigarettes that I smoked as a young person up through a big chunk of my adult life. I don’t think it is more dangerous than alcohol,” Obama said.

He added that smoking marijuana is “not something I encourage” and is “a bad idea, a waste of time, not very healthy.”

But anti-drug and public health organizations have since seized on the remarks, claiming the president is giving a muddy picture of the medical downsides of marijuana.

“His laissez-faire attitude about legalization has drug policy and prevention experts scratching their heads in confusion as to why the President will not give clear guidance on this important issue,” The Drug-Free America Foundation said on its website.

“President Obama is surrounded by a myriad of experts who have voiced serious concerns about the harms of marijuana and rejected legalization, so either he is seriously ill-informed about the issue or is completely ignoring warnings from his highly-esteemed advisers.”

Obama’s comments were made to the backdrop of Colorado and Washington state legalizing and regulating marijuana. His remarks could be taken as another signal that his administration will not interfere with their experiment — though recreational marijuana use remains illegal under federal law.

The president echoed the argument that pro-legalization advocates often make, stressing the cost to society of locking up minor drug offenders.

“Middle-class kids don’t get locked up for smoking pot, and poor kids do,” Obama said. “And African-American kids and Latino kids are more likely to be poor and less likely to have the resources and the support to avoid unduly harsh penalties.”

But his administration, and those of his predecessors, repeatedly have documented and publicized health risks from the drug.

Obama’s own Office of National Drug Control Policy still states on its website that the administration “steadfastly opposes legalization of marijuana and other drugs.”

The office lists a range of negative health and mental consequences from the drug, including schizophrenia, lower IQ (“as much as an 8 point drop”), and higher risk of heart attack.

The National Institute on Drug Abuse says the drug is addictive, with nearly 4.2 million people having a pot abuse or addiction problem in 2011.

The agency says the drug is linked to “school failure” and high doses “can cause psychosis or panic when you’re high.”

The American Society of Addiction Medicine released a statement on Tuesday noting that the drug impairs memory, motor function and respiratory health when smoked — and can be addictive.

“Addiction is a chronic brain disease that can affect people at any age. In fact, the younger one initiates alcohol or drug use, the greater the likelihood that he or she has addictive disease,” ASAM President Stuart Gitlow said.

A recurring rebuttal to the president’s comments is that weed today is stronger than it was when, say, Obama smoked it.

The White House drug office says studies show the potency has “almost tripled over the past 20 years.”

Marijuana Legalization

Marijuana is a topic of significant public discourse in the United States, and while many are familiar with the discussions, it is not always easy to find the latest, research-based information on marijuana to answer to the common questions about its health effects, or the differences between Federal and state laws concerning the drug. Confusing messages being presented by popular culture, media, proponents of “medical” marijuana, and political campaigns to legalize all marijuana use perpetuate the false notion that marijuana is harmless. This significantly diminishes efforts tkeep our young people drug free and hampers the struggle of those recovering from addiction.

For more information, please visit our Marijuana Resource Center.

http://www.whitehouse.gov/ondcp/ondcp-fact-sheets/marijuana-legalization

The president attracted a rebuke along those lines from former Democratic Rep. Patrick Kennedy, who told MSNBC that Obama’s director in charge of drug abuse would tell him “that, in fact, today’s modern, genetically modified marijuana — so it’s much higher THC levels — far surpass the marijuana that the president acknowledges smoking when he was a young person.”

He said the president’s remarks were “wrong.”

Despite the discord, Colorado is charging ahead with launching the nation’s first legal pot trade and other states are considering loosening their own rules. The New Hampshire House recently approved a legalization bill.

Advocates point to the legal and personal costs to individuals of continuing to prosecute a full-throated drug war. FBI stats show hundreds of thousands of people are arrested every year for marijuana.

Obama, in his interview, suggested there is hypocrisy in the system, since those writing drug laws “have probably done the same thing” as those being locked up.

Rude and Crude: Why MSNBC keeps getting into trouble

By Howard Kurtz

Is there something in the water over at 30 Rock?

Whether you love or detest MSNBC, the network has had a rough few months, and I’m wondering whether a series of embarrassing episodes is more than a coincidence.

First, this is not some sort of Fox attack on MSNBC. It does a lot of politics, and I like politics. I have friendly relations with a number of people who work there. I think “Morning Joe” does a fine job of dealing with policy issues in more than short sound bites. And MSNBC President Phil Griffin has every right to position his outfit as a liberal network, a perceived counterweight to Fox News, in search of an audience.

But has the channel developed a culture in which harsh personal attacks are encouraged, or at least tolerated?

If there is a theme to these episodes, it is a view of Republicans and conservatives as so mean-spirited, hard-hearted and clueless that just about any rhetoric against them can be justified.

Thus we had the spectacle of Martin Bashir so reviling Sarah Palin that he not only called her a “dunce” and an “idiot” but prescribed for her an old slave treatment in which he said someone should defecate in her mouth.

What was striking to me was that MSNBC did nothing but issue a tepid statement until Bashir resigned under pressure nearly three weeks later. But he had a telling line in his apology, saying that “the politics of vitriol and destruction is a miserable place to be and a miserable person to become.”

Alec Baldwin lost his short-lived MSNBC show after allegedly shouting an anti-gay slur at a photographer outside his New York apartment. Baldwin admits cursing but denies the slur, though he has used anti-gay terms when upset in the past. In this case MSNBC moved quickly against the actor, but was hiring him in the first place a good idea?

Now comes Melissa Harris-Perry and her MSNBC panel, mocking a Mitt Romney family photo because, amid a sea of white faces, Romney’s adopted black grandson was on his knee. This falls more in the category of racially insensitive jokes than personal attacks, but why shouldn’t the family be praised rather than ridiculed for the adoption? Instead a defenseless baby was made into a symbol of the GOP’s lack of diversity.

Harris-Perry later said that she herself had been born into a white Mormon family and that “without reservation or qualification, I apologize to the Romney family and to all families built on loving transracial adoptions.”

Go back a bit further and there are more transgressions. Ed Schultz apologized for calling Laura Ingraham a “right-wing slut” and was suspended for a week. Chris Hayes said he was “uncomfortable” calling fallen soldiers “heroes” because that could be seen as justifying more war. He apologized:  “As many have rightly pointed out, it’s very easy for me, a TV host, to opine about the people who fight our wars, having never dodged a bullet or guarded a post or walked a mile in their boots.”

Just about everyone on television, including me, makes mistakes. And cable news can be a rough neighborhood. I’m sure some folks are at this moment scrambling to dig up incendiary comments made on Fox, which shouldn’t be difficult. I’m not crazy about pundits calling their opponents idiots and liars. But not since Glenn Beck was branding Barack Obama a “racist” with a “deep-seated hatred” of white people has anything been at the Bashir level, and that was five years ago.

MSNBC is now 85 percent opinion, according to a recent Pew study. The channel doesn’t have its own reporters and has no problem having such commentators as Rachel Maddow and Chris Matthews anchor news events, including conventions and election nights.

With so many opinions being flung around, perhaps there is subtle pressure to push the boundaries of acceptable commentary in an effort to break through the static.

Personally, I hope things settle down at MSNBC. It’s good for the country to have three healthy cable news networks and a vigorous debate that doesn’t descend into offensive bile.

Watching Obama’s Signature Health Care Law unravel…

The Sorry President

1463607_10151866054252740_1375418339_nHat tip to Fox News for this poll

President Obama says he was unaware U.S. intelligence agencies were listening to the cell phone calls of world leaders, including allies such as German Chancellor Angela Merkel. He also said he found out the same time as the rest of us about the IRS targeting of conservative groups. Same thing on the health care exchange website failing — the president insisted he was unaware the site for his signature legislative achievement wouldn’t work.

Many voters don’t believe President Obama is really that far out of the loop.

The latest Fox News poll finds that while 45 percent believe the president when he pleads ignorance in these controversies, 47 percent think he did in fact know and he’s ducking responsibility by denying it.

1391830_10151868516067740_1684095917_n

One has to wonder how any rational thinking American can believe anything this President tells us?

988342_10151866012267740_454843132_n

The 45 percent who believe Obama was unaware breakdown further: 27 percent think he still “should have known” about these things, while 18 percent say it’s “understandable” that he didn’t know.

A majority of Republicans (71 percent), nearly half of independents (46 percent) and almost a quarter of Democrats (22 percent) think, contrary to his statements, the president knew about these situations ahead of time.

Groups most likely to disbelieve Obama’s denials include those who are part of the tea party movement (80 percent), men (55 percent), those under age 30 (55 percent) and whites (53 percent).

The poll also finds 45 percent feel Obama is “good at taking personal responsibility for his statements and actions,” while just over half — 51 percent — believe he “spends too much time blaming others.”

By a 64 percentage-point margin Republicans are more likely to say Obama blames others, as do independents by 14 points.

Democrats are more likely to believe Obama takes responsibility by a 55-point spread.

Men think Obama blames others (58 percent), while women say he takes responsibility (51 percent).

Poll Pourri

As reported Wednesday, by a 50-40 percent margin voters think Obama “knowingly lied” when he assured Americans they could keep their plans under Obamacare. And a 59-percent majority believes the White House knew beforehand that people would be kicked off their insurance because of the law.

Meanwhile, a majority views Obama’s apology to those losing their insurance as “political” (58 percent) rather than “sincere” (38 percent).

The Fox News poll is based on landline and cell phone interviews with 1,006 randomly chosen registered voters nationwide and was conducted under the joint direction of Anderson Robbins Research (D) and Shaw & Company Research (R) from November 10-12, 2013. The full poll has a margin of sampling error of plus or minus three percentage points.

An American Disgrace and Embarrassment: Barack Obama

If George W. Bush had doubled the national debt, which had taken more than two centuries to accumulate, in one year, would you have approved?

If George W. Bush had then proposed to double the debt again within 10 years, would you have approved?

If George W. Bush had criticized a state law that he admitted he never even read would you think that he is just an ignorant hot head?

If George W. Bush joined the country of Mexico and sued a state in the United States to force that state to continue to allow illegal immigration, would you question his patriotism and wonder whose side he was on?

If George W. Bush had put 87000 workers out of work by arbitrarily placing a moratorium on offshore oil drilling on companies that have one of the best safety records of any industry because one company had an accident would you have agreed?

If George W. Bush had used a forged document as the basis of the moratorium that would render 87000 American workers unemployed would you support him?

If George W. Bush had been the first President to need a TelePrompter installed to be able to get through a press conference, would you have laughed and said this is more proof of how inept he is on his own and is really controlled by smarter men behind the scenes?

If George W. Bush had spent hundreds of thousands of dollars to take Laura Bush to a play in NYC, would you have approved?

If George W. Bush had reduced your retirement plan’s holdings of GM stock by 90% and given the unions a majority stake in GM, would you have approved?

If George W. Bush had made a joke at the expense of the Special Olympics, would you have approved?

If George W. Bush had given Gordon Brown a set of inexpensive and incorrectly formatted DVDs, when Gordon Brown had given him a thoughtful and historically significant gift, would you have approved?

If George W. Bush had given the Queen of England an iPod containing videos of his speeches, would you have thought this embarrassingly narcissistic and tacky?

If George W. Bush had bowed to the King of Saudi Arabia , would you have approved?

If George W. Bush had visited Austria and made reference to the nonexistent “Austrian language,” would you have brushed it off as a minor slip?

If George W. Bush had filled his cabinet and circle of advisers with people who cannot seem to keep current in their income taxes, would you have approved?

If George W. Bush had stated that there were 57 states in the United States , would you have said that he is clueless.

If George W. Bush would have flown all the way to Denmark to make a five minute speech about how the Olympics would benefit him walking out his front door in Texas , would you have thought he was a self important, conceited, egotistical jerk?

If George W. Bush had been so Spanish illiterate as to refer to “Cinco de Cuatro” in front of the Mexican ambassador when it was the 5th of May (Cinco de Mayo), and continued to flub it when he tried again, would you have winced in embarrassment?

If George W. Bush had misspelled the word “advice” would you have hammered him for it for years like Dan Quayle and potatoes as proof of what a dunce he is?

If George W. Bush had burned 9,000 gallons of jet fuel to go plant a single tree on Earth Day, would you have concluded he’s a hypocrite?

If George W. Bush’s administration had OK’d Air Force One flying low over millions of people followed by a jet fighter in downtown Manhattan causing widespread panic, would you have wondered whether they actually get what happened on 9-11?

If George W. Bush had failed to send relief aid to flood victims throughout the Midwest with more people killed or made homeless than in New Orleans, would you want it made into a major ongoing political issue with claims of racism and incompetence?

If George W. Bush had created the position of 32 Czars who report directly to him, bypassing the House and Senate on much of what is happening in America, would you have approved.

If George W. Bush had ordered the firing of the CEO of a major corporation, even though he had no constitutional authority to do so, would you have approved?

So, tell me again, what is it about Obama that makes him so brilliant and impressive? Can’t think of anything? Don’t worry. He’s done all this in three years so you’ll have another year to come up with an answer.

Why Don’t You Just Resign Barry?
