After all the ridicule it would seem Sarah Palin was right after all…

993081_10201257418907996_724921225_n

“Death panel” is a political term that originated during the 2009 debate about federal health care legislation to cover the uninsured in the United States used to describe the system’s Independent Payment Advisory Board (IPAB). The term was coined in August 2009 by Sarah Palin, the former Governor of Alaska, when she charged that the then-proposed Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act would create a “death panel” of bureaucrats who would decide whether Americans—such as her elderly parents or children with Down syndrome—were “worthy of medical care”. Palin’s claim has been referred to as the “death panel myth”,.[1][2] Palin specified that she was referring to Section 1233 of bill HR 3200 which would have paid physicians for providing voluntary counseling to Medicare patients about living wills, advance directives, and end-of-life care options.

Palin’s claim was criticized in editorials by mainstream news media, fact-checkers, academics, physicians, Democrats, and some Republicans. Prominent Republicans such as Newt Gingrich and conservative talk radio hosts Glenn Beck, Rush Limbaugh and Michelle Malkin backed Palin’s statement. One poll showed that after it spread, about 85% of Americans were familiar with the charge and of those who were familiar with it, about 30% thought it was true.[1] Due to public concern, the provision to pay physicians for providing voluntary counseling was removed from the Senate bill and was not included in the law that was enacted, the 2010 Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act. In a 2011 statement, the American Society of Clinical Oncology bemoaned the politicization of the issue and said that the proposal should be revisited.

For 2009, “death panel” was named as PolitiFact’s “Lie of the Year”, one of FactCheck’s “whoppers”, and the most outrageous term by the American Dialect Society.

Veterans waiting for months for an APPOINTMENT, let alone care for their ailments.

In 2009, Obama knew about this problem and here it is 2014 and veterans are dying waiting for treatment.

These people were willing to give their lives for this Country.

Many lost limbs, and some were incapacitated in other areas of a normal existence.
Nightmares may persist, the echoes of combat do not go away.
The inability to shake the memories can prove to change your life for the rest of your life.

Still, many function as fathers and mothers and raise a family, and do quite well in doing so.
They do so because they are the cream of the crop that this Country can ever produce and they are showing the courage that it takes to carry on no matter what.

These are the true Americans, the spine of America, the best of the best.

The ones that will still give their last breath to defend this Country.

In WWII, 25 missions on a bomber and you were out.
Many did not make that goal.
The bomber was either shot down or they lost it and could no longer perform their duty due to mental conditions.

This Country owes a lot to the people that were willing to put their life on the line to protect Her from the ones that would take Her away from US.

Our taxpayer money goes to pay the VA to take care of the ones that took care of US.

The ones that are responsible to maintain them have fallen down on the job, consistently.

Time to take our Country back.

We the People are not finished yet,…we have only just begun.

God Bless America and the ones that defended Her and the ones that defend Her to this day.

ObamaCare enrollment figures still far short of administration’s own goal

By Jim Angle

Published January 07, 2014

FoxNews.com

While the Obama administration is congratulating itself for signing up 2.1 million people in private plans on state and federal health care exchanges, some analysts say it’s a little early to uncork the champagne.

Robert Laszewski of Health Policy and Strategy Associates says, “ObamaCare has proven that it can enroll the sick people. To only have 2 million people enrolled out of 20 million uninsured, plus all the canceled policies, indicates you only got a very small group of people enrolled.”

That’s not even enough, he and others argue, to make up for the policies that were canceled because they didn’t meet the requirements of ObamaCare.

Even the 2.1 million signed up through the end of December 2013 is far short of the administration’s own goal of more than 3.3 million by the end of December – a number projected last September by the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services or CMS.

And that figure was just a stepping stone to the eventual goal of 7 million by the end of March.

Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius told NBC in an interview last September, “Well, I think success looks like at least 7 million people having signed up by the end of March 2014.”

But now that the administration appears to be falling short, other officials are playing down the 7 million target, sometimes even using exactly the same words.

Gene Sperling, director of Obama’s National Economic Council, argued on “Meet the Press” Sunday that “first of all, there is no magic number. The key is to enroll as many people, have an exchange that`s working….”

White House spokesman Jay Carney said Monday that “it’s important to understand that it is not – that there’s not some magic number – 6,999,999, and the system collapses – one more than that, and it functions perfectly.”

Carney said what is more important than total numbers is who is signing up.

“In terms of how effective the marketplaces function, the makeup, the mix of the population that enrolls is more important that the total number,” he said.

On that, there appears to be no disagreement. But the mix factor is precisely what worries many analysts because with all the problems on the ObamaCare website, the most desperate and determined were the most likely to sign up.

“It doesn’t take Einstein to figure out that the first people who will enroll are the sick people,” says Laszewski.

Data from the state exchanges, such as Kentucky, point in the same direction.

James Capretta of the Ethics and Public Policy Center says ObamaCare does help the poorest and sickest with subsidies.

“If they’re less healthy, it’s a good deal, he says. “So those are the people that have signed up in Kentucky so far. They haven’t really attracted the percentage they need in terms of 20 to 30 year olds.”

Data from other states reflects the same trend.

Administration officials say not to worry– that the young often wait until the end.

But if they don’t sign up, it could be the end, because the plan isn’t financially sustainable without them.

Jim Angle currently serves as chief national correspondent for Fox News Channel (FNC). He joined FNC in 1996 as a senior White House correspondent.

AFVet speaks out on ObamaCare with an Internet Solution

1472996_10151920215547740_2114269227_nHat tip to AFVet for this commentary

So what has the internet given us?

The ability to speak to people across the world at lightning speed.
I remember my Father saying that computers and the internet will never amount to anything.
It’s just a passing fad, a toy.
No amount of convincing on my part could change his mind.
He was a stubborn man and I was a son that just didn’t understand.

If he were alive today, he would be astounded at the powerful instrument it has become.

This brings me to my point.

Obamacare is obviously a debacle, and the republicans are possibly looking for a legislative alternative.

A legislative alternative is not what we need.

Rather, take the regulations away from the private sector, eliminate the state line restrictions that have been imposed, and allow the marketplace to do what it does best,….compete.

I can buy a book on Amazon.com, and I have no idea where the company is located, nor do I care.

If that is possible today, why can’t we buy an insurance policy in the same manner ?

The insurance companies should be able advertise across the nation with no restrictions !

The ones that can’t compete will fall by the wayside.

If that was allowed, the prices would go down, and we wouldn’t be forced to pay for maternity insurance if you are a 60 year old man or woman.

Nor would we be paying for ‘morning after pills’.

The logical, plausible aspect of this concept is I believe obvious to anyone that contains some degree of common sense.

No republican alternative.

Repeal Obamacare, and give the 85 % of the American People that were happy with their coverage to shop for it again on an open market.

The remaining 15 % can find something if they want it.

What we don’t want is the government mandating anything to people that actually have to work for a paycheck.

The Sorry President

1463607_10151866054252740_1375418339_nHat tip to Fox News for this poll

President Obama says he was unaware U.S. intelligence agencies were listening to the cell phone calls of world leaders, including allies such as German Chancellor Angela Merkel. He also said he found out the same time as the rest of us about the IRS targeting of conservative groups. Same thing on the health care exchange website failing — the president insisted he was unaware the site for his signature legislative achievement wouldn’t work.

Many voters don’t believe President Obama is really that far out of the loop.

The latest Fox News poll finds that while 45 percent believe the president when he pleads ignorance in these controversies, 47 percent think he did in fact know and he’s ducking responsibility by denying it.

1391830_10151868516067740_1684095917_n

One has to wonder how any rational thinking American can believe anything this President tells us?

988342_10151866012267740_454843132_n

The 45 percent who believe Obama was unaware breakdown further: 27 percent think he still “should have known” about these things, while 18 percent say it’s “understandable” that he didn’t know.

A majority of Republicans (71 percent), nearly half of independents (46 percent) and almost a quarter of Democrats (22 percent) think, contrary to his statements, the president knew about these situations ahead of time.

Groups most likely to disbelieve Obama’s denials include those who are part of the tea party movement (80 percent), men (55 percent), those under age 30 (55 percent) and whites (53 percent).

The poll also finds 45 percent feel Obama is “good at taking personal responsibility for his statements and actions,” while just over half — 51 percent — believe he “spends too much time blaming others.”

By a 64 percentage-point margin Republicans are more likely to say Obama blames others, as do independents by 14 points.

Democrats are more likely to believe Obama takes responsibility by a 55-point spread.

Men think Obama blames others (58 percent), while women say he takes responsibility (51 percent).

Poll Pourri

As reported Wednesday, by a 50-40 percent margin voters think Obama “knowingly lied” when he assured Americans they could keep their plans under Obamacare. And a 59-percent majority believes the White House knew beforehand that people would be kicked off their insurance because of the law.

Meanwhile, a majority views Obama’s apology to those losing their insurance as “political” (58 percent) rather than “sincere” (38 percent).

The Fox News poll is based on landline and cell phone interviews with 1,006 randomly chosen registered voters nationwide and was conducted under the joint direction of Anderson Robbins Research (D) and Shaw & Company Research (R) from November 10-12, 2013. The full poll has a margin of sampling error of plus or minus three percentage points.

Go ahead Obama and just keep Poking the Tiger.

Block off our monuments, try to intimidate the Veterans.
Do you really think that you are winning ?
Do you really think that you are making a statement that we will respect ?
Why did you shut off the sports broadcasts to our troops overseas ?
Stamping your feet in front of mature adults only make you look like a petulant child.
You are playing with fire here.
Many of the parents of these troops are well aware of what you are doing and I would surmise that they completely disapprove of it.
The spouses and the families of active duty troops are not supporting of you.

Don’t care huh ?
Lame duck president huh ?
Maximum push on the Marxist agenda huh ?
Take America to Her knees huh ?

OK,…go for it.
Go ahead and try moron.
Given the fact that you have never run a corner grocery store, and probably couldn’t, and now you and your thugs are tearing this Country, OUR COUNTRY apart intentionally is completely unacceptable.
It appears that you are itching for a revolution.
Preventing religious freedom in the military is a good start.
The constant antagonizing of the People of this Country hasn’t worked so well to your advantage yet has it ?
Keep trying Barry, just keep it up because there are some folks out there that haven’t gotten the message yet.
Some are so slow that they voted for you twice, and it will take them awhile to catch up.

3 more years is a long time, think you can make it ?

rant off.

ObamaCare Site goes into Deep Sleep

obamacare in a nutshellHat tip to Fox News for this report

Deep sleep: ObamaCare site goes offline for extended maintenance

The problem-plagued ObamaCare website shut down Saturday night for “extended” repairs, according to the Department of Health and Human Services.

Technicians have shut down HealthCare.gov during weekends since the site launched Oct. 1 but just for a few overnight hours.

The site was scheduled to be offline from 9 p.m. ET Saturday until 9 a.m. Sunday.

“The HealthCare.gov tech team is performing extended maintenance this weekend to improve network infrastructure and make enhancements to the online application and enrollment tools,” agency spokeswoman Joanne Peters said Saturday.

The Obama administration says Americas can still apply for insurance coverage by calling a toll-free number available around the clock.

In recent weeks, the administration has brought in outside experts to assist in getting the site running.

Officials say their goal is to eliminate such problems as volume-related crashes, slow response times and incorrect information before the insurance policies kick in January 1, 2014.

They also have set a goal of getting the site running smoothly by month’s end and releasing enrollment numbers by mid-November, as Capitol Hill lawmakers hold hearings about the extent of the problems before the site launch and who knew about them.
