CNN delivers a shocking report that “at least 40 U.S. veterans died waiting for appointments at the Phoenix Veterans Affairs Health Care system, many of whom were placed on a secret waiting list.”
After all the ridicule it would seem Sarah Palin was right after all…
“Death panel” is a political term that originated during the 2009 debate about federal health care legislation to cover the uninsured in the United States used to describe the system’s Independent Payment Advisory Board (IPAB). The term was coined in August 2009 by Sarah Palin, the former Governor of Alaska, when she charged that the then-proposed Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act would create a “death panel” of bureaucrats who would decide whether Americans—such as her elderly parents or children with Down syndrome—were “worthy of medical care”. Palin’s claim has been referred to as the “death panel myth”,. Palin specified that she was referring to Section 1233 of bill HR 3200 which would have paid physicians for providing voluntary counseling to Medicare patients about living wills, advance directives, and end-of-life care options.
Palin’s claim was criticized in editorials by mainstream news media, fact-checkers, academics, physicians, Democrats, and some Republicans. Prominent Republicans such as Newt Gingrich and conservative talk radio hosts Glenn Beck, Rush Limbaugh and Michelle Malkin backed Palin’s statement. One poll showed that after it spread, about 85% of Americans were familiar with the charge and of those who were familiar with it, about 30% thought it was true. Due to public concern, the provision to pay physicians for providing voluntary counseling was removed from the Senate bill and was not included in the law that was enacted, the 2010 Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act. In a 2011 statement, the American Society of Clinical Oncology bemoaned the politicization of the issue and said that the proposal should be revisited.
For 2009, “death panel” was named as PolitiFact’s “Lie of the Year”, one of FactCheck’s “whoppers”, and the most outrageous term by the American Dialect Society.

So now we have the
VA hospital scandal

Veterans waiting for months for an APPOINTMENT, let alone care for their ailments.
In 2009, Obama knew about this problem and here it is 2014 and veterans are dying waiting for treatment.
These people were willing to give their lives for this Country.
Many lost limbs, and some were incapacitated in other areas of a normal existence.
Nightmares may persist, the echoes of combat do not go away.
The inability to shake the memories can prove to change your life for the rest of your life.
Still, many function as fathers and mothers and raise a family, and do quite well in doing so.
They do so because they are the cream of the crop that this Country can ever produce and they are showing the courage that it takes to carry on no matter what.
These are the true Americans, the spine of America, the best of the best.
The ones that will still give their last breath to defend this Country.
In WWII, 25 missions on a bomber and you were out.
Many did not make that goal.
The bomber was either shot down or they lost it and could no longer perform their duty due to mental conditions.
This Country owes a lot to the people that were willing to put their life on the line to protect Her from the ones that would take Her away from US.
Our taxpayer money goes to pay the VA to take care of the ones that took care of US.
The ones that are responsible to maintain them have fallen down on the job, consistently.
Time to take our Country back.
We the People are not finished yet,…we have only just begun.
God Bless America and the ones that defended Her and the ones that defend Her to this day.
