Just a Blogger’: Watch Michelle Malkin Assert the Power of Conservative Media at

Right Online

Following her tense segment on Hannity with Juan Williams this week, where she was insulted as just a “blogger on the blogosphere” and “not a real journalist,“ Michelle Malkin is firing back at the ”snotty condescension from liberal elite journalists” like Williams.

At the “Right Online” convention this weekend, Malkin began her speech, “My name is Michelle Malkin and I am just a blogger,” to roars of applause.

She continued: “You’re blogging in your spare time when these ‘real reporters’ can‘t do their jobs when they’re on the clock!  ‘Just a blogger…’  I want it on a t-shirt.”

Watch her entire speech below, via Right Online:

A few quotes from the speech include:

“Journalism is not something you are, it’s something you do.

“There are real reporters who won‘t even say the name ’Brett Kimberlin’ out of fear…The kind of harassment that I’ve gone through over the past twenty years pales in comparison to what these individuals bloggers [have gone through]…and we owe them so much for standing up, for telling the truth.  Thank them, get their backs.”

“A lot of progressives…always ask me, ‘Why are you so mad?’  Why the hell shouldn’t I be mad?  You’re trying to flush our country down the toilet!  I‘m not going to tell you that you’re a nice person.  And I think we need more people in Washington…not to concede that these people are ‘nice’ people.”

“Once you un-mask the Occupy movement, the next step is taking the future generation of wealth-creators and job-creators in this country and immunizing them against the progressive virus.  So we can‘t wait until they’re in college…”

“We fight for our freedom, for our faith, and for our families, and that’s what distinguishes us from these miserable enemies…You know, if I had to be the crusader and a cheerleader for a culture of dependency and entitlement, and coercion, and a massive welfare state that crushed religious liberty, and individual liberty, and the free market, and innovation– I’d be pretty darn miserable, too.”

  1. Good Morning America ;)

  2. I’m in love with two women.
    2. Michelle Malkin.
    Both are small people physically.
Never underestimate the tempest in a teapot.
    Believe me, I know.

Michelle is an intelligent, fierce competitor.
Juan Williams is a hack commentator on FOX News that signed a contract to provide an insane level of ignorance to make the conservatives sound more logical.

    Michelle is Filipino.
I spent 18 months in the Philippines and I can attest to the fact that these people are fighters.
They are very proud, and they never give up.

Williams picked a fight that he will never win.

    Michelle,…you go girl !!!!!!

    • I have to admit I too have a thing for Filipino Ladies and have dated a couple over the years. I have had Filipino Doctors and my children had a Filipino Pediatrician as well. A very gentle and caring people and I count it a blessing to have had them in my life.

      • Leave Michelle’s video up for a bit.
I am off to direct all those other nasty conservative bloggers that might be interested in seeing and hearing someone who is unafraid to state the truth.

      • And if you cross them, they will cut your b@lls off.

    • Great speech. She’s definitely one of my favorites. She fears no man (or woman), and Juan Williams really stepped in it, going after her. I’m inspired by women like her and Sarah Palin, for this very reason. They are unwavering, and stronger than most people I know. They’ll fight for what they believe in, and they won’t step aside or back down for anyone. If you go after them, they double down. Inspiring….

      • I’m with you Righthook and find myself very inspired by her courage under fire.

      • Believe me RH, Michelle can easily take Juan.
Once in awhile she publishes on her website some of the attacks she gets on a regular basis pertaining to her gender, her race, her political views.
If Williams continues his attacks on her she will destroy him.
He knows when to back off, and he knows who he is dealing with.

  3. What a great find Voting American. I saw her “spank” Juan Williams the other day. It was great!

  4. Juan Williams is an idiot. He should remember who came to his defense when NPR sacked him. But like all left-wing Obamabots, his instinct is always to bite the (right) hand that feeds him.

Michelle’s right about many things, and one of ‘em is that the only journalism practiced today is being done in the blogosphere. I majored in journalism, & any relationship between what I was taught and what goes on the ‘newsrooms’ of today’s Democratic Ministry of Propaganda is purely accidental.

    • You bring up a good point about all the Conservatives that came in to support Juan Williams during his fall from grace at NPR. All the Fox News pundits also supported and encouraged him.

  5. Happy belated Father’s Day AFVET, Samiam, Bob and anyone else that I may have missed.

Went to my niece’s baby shower Saturday which turned into quite a party. Can’t believe that I dozed off Sunday afternoon and slept til midnight.

I love this speech which I downloaded along with the exchange between Malkin and Williams. Will hold it in my files for future use as I am sure it will come in handly.

Juan Williams, the ungrateful (sp) lout owes his survival to Conservative “bloggers” who supported him when NPR kicked his butt to the curb.

In addition, the ungrateful (sp) loutshould would be better off calling in sick once he realizes that he’s going up against Malkin because he does not stand a chance against the woman. His talking points are always minus the facts which is the norm for Progressives and his elitist attitude exposes the left as the elitist hypocrites that they are.

Progressives despise bloggers because we are the alternative media outlet, growing in numbers and popularity. We report the news and the facts that the Obama-owned media buries. Thus, we are a threat and the great American success story all rolled into one.

One more thing, I’m going to have a shirt made that says, “I’m Just a Blogger” and a coffee mug too. LOL.

    Great post and great speech.

    • Thank you D for the Fathers Day wishes and compliment on this post. In reality there was nothing for me to add or subtract from this post because Michelle Malkin said it all and said it best in her speech.

What amazes me most is that of all the news web sites it seems that I find the most breaking news stories at The Blaze days before they are seen and heard on the MSM.

      I find that very telling.

  6. “Do not run a campaign that would embarrass your mother.” Robert C. Byrd

  7. A big THANK YOU AFVET for all your efforts in bringing attention to this post. You my friend are a true Patriot ;)

    • No problemo Sam.
These nasty conservative bloggers are very powerful indeed, and for the time being, they are the voice of the People. ;)

  8. Freedom, by the way

Michelle Maulkin is one of those rare indiviuals that can give an intelligent, clever tongue-lashing in both writing and speaking . Williams, along with 99.9% of the progressive talking heads (and 85% of the media in general) can’t go toe to toe with Maulkin. I’m sure glad she’s on our side.

    • She and Sarah Palin should not be confronted when they are on message.
I think Sarah coined the phrase,”momma grizzly.”
They are both relentless when it comes to what they believe as to what has to happen to put this Country back on track.
Michelle made reference to the spine that we need to get back on course.
      She is correct.
It’s going to take many spines in congress to put America back on Her track to be the finest example of Liberty the world has ever seen.
We have a few months to determine who has the spine to steer the ship back into safe water.
We can’t afford to take another chance on the ones that have placed US too close to the rocks.
Time to change the ones on the tiller.
The compass that they have followed is defective.

    • I would like to see her have a Cabinet Position in President Romney’s Administration.

  9. I just heard on Rush’s show today that we may actually reach the debt ceiling again by October. It was supposed to go through the end of the year, but with the economic slow-down, they fear it will happen right before the elections. I’m guessing Obama won’t be too happy about that! Let’s just hope the Republicans handle it properly…

  10. October surprise.
The possibility of a lame duck session.
The magic show is just beginning.
Don’t let them amaze you with which shell the pea is under.
Turn the table over and kick the fraud out.

  11. More on Juan Williams from Commentary Magazine (http://www.commentarymagazine.com/2012/06/18/will-obama-try-to-blow-up-the-obamacare-supreme-court-decision/)

And he has the unmitigated gall to call himself a journalist?

“[…] the pessimism on the left about the possibility of the president’s signature health care legislation being thrown out is leading to some interesting, if intemperate ideas. A good example comes from Juan Williams, who writes in The Hill to urge President Obama to try to make political hay out of what might otherwise be considered a disaster if the bill is junked.

Williams proposes that the president react by attempting to “blow up the system” in a manner that has not been seen since Franklin Roosevelt’s failed attempt to pack the Supreme Court in 1938. According to Williams, rather than the end of ObamaCare being seen as a humiliating failure, it would merely serve as an invitation to:

Use the bully pulpit of the White House, and the national stage of a presidential campaign, to launch a bitter attack on the current court as a corrupt tool of the Republican right wing.
